I took this nice 10pt whitetail yesterday at my house. Not too bad for a backyard buck! He showed up chasing does at 5:45 in the evening. The CZ 300 Blackout made quick work of him. Those 110gr Barnes TAC TX bullets are simply deadly within 100 yds.

Not too shabby! Very nice, Toby!

Nice job! Gotta love any recovery you can use a front end loader!

Very nice and he has decent mass. I love hearing about deer taken on someone's personal place. Well done my friend! Had you seen him much before?

Thanks! I had him on camera the night before and yesterday morning. I was going to hunt him with a bow, but literally while I was putting on my clothes to go sit in my bow stand, he walked out into the yard at 5:45 yesterday evening. So I couldn’t resist. My neighbor has a big food plot next door, so I knew he was going to shoot him if I didn’t. Not very often I see decent sized bucks in the yard during daylight hours.

That’s awesome! The tractor is another bonus for taking them around the house. Good work.

Nice buck. Congrats
Bruce

Nice buck! Going to have to sneak over to your backyard. lol

The tractor isn’t actually mine. That’s how my friend took it off of my truck when I delivered it to him. He wanted the meat, so I obliged.

Totally agree about those 110 tac barnes. Use them in my blackout. Amazing what that little bullet can do

Yes. I’ve shot quite a few bucks with them over the past few years, and they’ve always done a great job. Usually complete penetration on broadside shots and the deer hardly ever make it out of sight. I shoot these in a 16” CZ bolt action rifle with a suppressor, so even with these supersonic rounds, the noise is minimal. I’d say about like an unsuppressed 22LR.

That deer has great mass for your area and GA!!! Nicely done!!!

Very nice buck. Congrats!

Handsome buck, Toby. IIRC, Georgia has a pretty liberal limit on whitetail. Would it be a correct assumption that you plan to shoot something younger and more tender for your own consumption?

Just noticed with this post that you have Madison, GA as your location. Are you familiar with a business not too far (?) from you, Kelly Products? Maybe Farmview Market?

You are correct. We can shoot 12 deer per season here. I usually shoot a young doe for my own consumption.
I live five minutes from Farmview Market. Are you familiar with the area?

No, not overly familiar. It’s been a long time since I was in GA.

A friend of mine has hunted deer down your way with a friend of his, Keith Kelly, the owner of the two businesses I mentioned. I’m still hoping for an invite to hunt the wild bobwhite I understand Keith has on some of his properties!

Hello - I was looking at your post from several years ago regarding the Winchester 300 H&H. Any chance you still have the lefty M70 300 H&H for sale?
Thank you, Mike

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
