With the recent events, including Iran bombing US bases in qatar, is anyone worried about flying through Doha? I am leaving in 1.5 weeks, but going direct from DC to Cape Town, so no problems for me. However I started wondering if this stuff is affecting other folks travel plans

I have not seen any effects on my flights yet. Hopefully things go smoothly. I fly through Doha (with an overnight layover) two weeks from tomorrow.

I just got an update from Qatar Airlines. My flight departure (July 8th) was delayed 10 minutes, but the arrival was pushed back an hour. This makes me think they have rerouted the flight path to avoid flying over potential hot zones. They could always change back to the original path if things are calm, I suspect. Fortunately I have an overnight layover in Doha, so not too worried about a later arrival.

Iran will most likely not strike inside Qatar again. So Doha is probably the safest spot during the whole trip.

Iran and or its Proxies. Will hit us citizens or military in the future. Somewhere. It’s what they do. Months, even years afterwards.

I think it will begin calming down as far as the missile attacks. The shots fired at our base in Qatar were a joke. Literally. We dropped 14 MOP's and they retaliated with 14 missiles at one of the most highly fortified places over there. Needless to say they were all intercepted.
Hoping for calm for everyone involved including traveling hunters!

I'm curious what the air travel routing is like these days. When I fly Doha to Seattle in 2021 it was straight over Iran and Russia.
