Thoughts on the DSC summer show they announced at the Gaylord Texan?

^^^ vendors list ^^^

looks like a total of about 250 +/- exhibitors..

there are a handful of African exhibitors, but not many.. Im pretty sure DSC expected that though and planned for it (its peak season right now I wouldn't expect a lot of outfitters to take time away from the lodge this time of year)...

I considered going just to check things out, and honestly to talk to a few folks and get a gauge on whether or not I think DSC is genuinely trying to turn the corner on all of the troubles they've sort of self inflicted over the last few years or not... but I am WAY behind on maintenance of my primary hunting property and have a pretty busy summer and early fall.. so Im going to take the weekend and spend about 10 hours a day running the bushhog, chainsaw, brush cutters, etc.. doing some repairs on feeders, getting cameras installed, and doing some improvements to our camp site..

I remember as a kid, older men telling me they never had time to get wverything done.

Now i understand. Time is truly our most precious commodity.

It's a poor crumb of an effort to make up for the Atl disaster and the good showing SCI had in Dallas in Jan with the absence of DSC in their own home area.

I think I’ll go for the heck of it. Might do a weekend getaway with my wife. Always thought the Gaylord Texan was neat

I was looking at attending on Sat. If anyone wants to connect that day, let me know.

Will be interested in the opinions on how this show goes. Have to busy of a summer to break loose and make it there.

I live close and work in Grapevine so I will attend. I will see if I can look for other hunts since I have an African hunt already booked for next year.

Anybody watch the podcast with Andy Buchanan TIA and the new CEO?

I don’t know enough about the issues with DSC to contrast his statements with the concerns folks have about them, but I was left with a decent impression and kind of wanted to go down there and check it out.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
