That Husky is a nice rifle. Nothing wrong with a ghostring rear sight. should you wish to mount a scope later, S&K makes bases and rings that'll work a treat. Laminate stock? Gives you the option of having it restocked in fine wood at a later date.
Is a small ring 96 strong enough for the pressures of the 9.3x62? I know it does fine with the 6.5x55.

for the 9.3x62 on AH & all for reason - great medium big bore all-around & that’s cool for a cartridge that’s 115yrs+ in years.In the Mauser community, this is an oft-debated topic. Similar to the 6.5x55, 7x57, and 8x57, the 9.3x62 is not typically a high pressure round. I imagine a handloader could stoke it up to higher pressures however. The Husqvarna small ring actions are strong enough for the typical pressures of the 9.3. The "reinforced" sidewall as Clodo mentioned, is claimed to strengthen the action and make it more rigid and the action look more sleek - though my guess is that this was just a cost cutting measure. No thumb cut means one less machining operation. Also, I've often read that the solid sidewall prevents any escaping gas (from a pierced primer) traveling down the bolt raceway from escaping through the traditional thumb cut. This gas would then be directed back towards the bolt end and with the 96's lack of "gas shield" on the bolt sleeve, could exit towards the shooters face. If I understand it correctly, this is one of the safety features Paul Mauser changed when he designed the 98. But one could argue the "commercial" FN 98s would do the same thing and also lack the thumb cut. All I can say is that there are many many followers and users of these 96 actioned guns, and I rarely hear anyone say anything negative about them. They were made with quality Swedish steels and were machined and finished very well by Husqvarna with very accurate barrels to boot. Given that it's a 96 action, I'm not sure if it's cock-on-open or if it's cock-on-close. So that may be something to discuss with the seller if you think it may bother you. As a final comment, I'll say that I have a Husqvarna Model 46 which uses a 96 action and is chambered in 9.3x57. it's a real beauty and almost, dare I say, Rigby-esque. I have no concerns about shooting it safety-wise. However, if it were me and the seller was asking that much money, I would probably keep looking for a 98. Anyway, these are just the opinions of one man...food for thought and best of luck with your decision!
