Those of you that are Aggies, or know a little bit about the Aggie culture will understand what a big deal this is. My nephew was selected as one of the three drum majors for the 2017 football season! I could be prouder of him!

The Corp of Cadets is the backbone of Texas A&M, and the band is the backbone of the Corp. It is what makes A&M unique. So this is a really big honor, and puts my nephew in a leadership role that will help to mold him for the future when he goes on to serve his country as his father, and father before him, did.

My nephew is on the right.

I also have to brag on my niece, who also goes to A&M. She wanted to go support her brother and be there for his audition, but her car was in the shop. So.... She walked four miles to the drill field, leaving her apartment at 6 AM so she could be there for his 7 AM audition. He was touched, as he should have been.

She took a video with her phone as well. The quality is lousy, but here is my nephew leading the band for the very first time. Again, I couldn't be prouder!

Don't get me started on A&M, I still have a very bad taste from their purchase of my law school.

Awesome Royal! How cool is that.
My daughter will be there in 2 years to start her vet program. Gig'em Aggies!

WHOOP!!!!!!!!
(y)(y)(y)

... and you are close enough to go watching him and the band perform this year.:A Banana:

My nephew and his wife both graduated from TX A@M. Two very sharp kids.
You must be a proud uncle! This is great!

Aggie here, class of 1994 and season ticket holder. Looking forward to watching your nephew at the games this year! Congrats to him! Gig Em!

This is a big deal! Congrats to the nephew!

Royal,
The closest I got to going to A&M was working on a water tower next to it and getting wrecked at the Dixie Chicken on a fairly regular basis! But that is awesome that your nephew achieved this honor, hard work pays off and that trait will serve him well as he graduates and moves on to life in the military. Your nieces actions speak volumes on her character, most would sleep in!
Glad your home brother,
Cody

The Corps of Cadets at A&M has been turning out solid army and air force officers for a long, long time.. Their commissioning program rivals dedicated military colleges like VMI, The Citadel, Norwich, etc. in many ways.. and there are more General Officers than I can count that have come out of that school..

Good on your nephew... This is a big honor..

Congrats to the young man!

Class of 84 here. I am guest lecturing there tomorrow at the business school. Congrats to your nephew!

Congratulations to you & he!

This is all very, very true. As for the General Officers, my brother-in-law, is one of the General Officers that A&M has produced, so my nephew comes from good stock!

Thanks to all for your kind notes here! Those kids are good kids, and their parents worked hard to have them turn out that way. :)

I told Dayna about your nephew and she put some video on my computer, they are very impressive, I'd have a huge wreck trying to do that kind if stuff. Very cool!

The tuba turn. Is the best. Watching that whole line of tubas move with such precision. Awesome!

And I totally agree. I've never walked a straight line in my life!

The tubas in Aggie Band are for those who are coordinated and have rhythm.

Cody, you would fit in with the cadets that are charming, witty, decisive and like to throw their bodies into harms way. Such as...

Outstanding! My daughter is an A&M grade and it is a wonderful university. You have every reason to be proud of him. Please pass along my best as well.

That said - I am all about LSU when it comes to SEC football. I think he will find Tiger Stadium on Saturday night every bit as incredible and intimidating as Kyle Field can ever be. :) GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!

Congrats to your nephew and to your family Royal!

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
