I am looking for recommendations on suppressors for 30-06. I thought I had my mind made up on the SilencerCo Scythe TI. It checks all the boxes. Short, Lightweight, and a brake on the end. I am opening up my search again after reading several reports about them coming apart. I cant say if this is a few or is a common problem but is enough concern I am going to keep looking. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you

I have a Scythe TI for my hunting rifles. I have no issues with it and will likely buy another one. Very lightweight and the tone on my .308 is wonderful.

Another option is the Hybrid46M (I have one). It checks your boxes and is multicaliber for anything you might choose to mount it on later, all the way up to .45cal big bores. I run mine on 6mmCM, 30-06 and .375R. You won’t notice the slight (3%?) loss in noise suppression either. I use their ASR mounts as well. I’ve got a number of other cans, half of which are silencerco, but the 46M is my general go to.

I really like my diligent defence enticer s-ti

I don't have any experience with the Scythe Ti, but I have been using the Omega 300 (shown in my profile pic) for about 5yrs now and I really like it. Relatively lightweight, though probably not as light as the Scythe. It also came with the muzzle brake, QD mount, and QD compatible muzzle device. Either way, I would definitely recommend sticking with SilencerCo products due to all the accessories/configurations available. I actually ditched the brake on mine in favor of a solid end cap that brought the noise down another 3-5 dB. I also purchased a 1/2x28 base cap so I can direct thread the suppressor onto my .223 predator rifle.

I too am looking at the SilencerCo Scythe TI, in large part because it is so lightweight. I have an Omega 36, works great, but it is 2x heavier. You'll see me say on this site many times, I'm lazy, I don't need to be carrying any extra weight through the woods!!

I’m using Rugged Alaskan 360TI and Silencerco Hybrid 46M I like both of them for their multi caliber use.

I have a Hybrid 46DT that is excellent.
Also have a AB Raptor 10 back over the barrel suppressor that is also top notch.
Lastly my buddy just picked up a Savage 30 Cal Back Over The Barrel that he says is Awesome.
Consider that the BOB design does not add a bunch of length to the rifle.

TBAC ultra 7 would be worth a consideration. IMO it's the perfect balance of dB reduction, weight, length with a reputable company behind it.

Unknown Suppressors and Airlock Industries are doing some incredible things with 3D printing. What is your primary use of the 30-06? Will you just mount it, and leave on the one rifle, or are you looking at putting it on multiple platforms. I don't think there is a one can is the best answer. I have multiple Q cans, and they each fill a different niche on different rifles. I have shot and listened to a bunch of other ones, and there are a lot of them that will do just fine in reducing to a hearing safe level. Are you looking for super light, hearing safe, QD mount, direct thread... there are so many variable than just "what is the best can" to buy.

I currently only own 2 rifles. One 30-06 and a 6.5cm that isn't threaded yet. Ideally it would be nice if one can would work for both but I would lean more to gun/caliber specific suppressors if they prove to be better set up that way. Both guns are strictly for hunting. I only target shoot to zero the guns and practicing shooting off sticks. I cant see myself removing or shooting without it once I do get one.

I would recommend just buying a 30 cal can of your choosing in your price range. I will say having something like the Q cans that have a muzzle device that you can buy multiples of and just swap the same can from rifle to rifle easily. Direct thread is lighter, but if you don't remove it after a while, you can get some carbon on the threads making the can difficult to remove. The Airlock 30 cal is really impressive in weight, and Db's. He just released it this last month, so it may take some time to get your hands on one. But I'd give it or Unknown's Reaper a serious look. I will be going to Airlocks shop on the 20th this month to shoot some rifles and compare his cans against my Q Thunder Chicken, Trash Panda, and Jumbo Shrimp. Which all do a good job.

I'm having a custom 7PRC hunting rifle built by Alamo Precision. Bartlein Varmint/Sendero 22" deep spiral skip fluted barrel. For running it suppressed, the Scythe Ti caught my eye, but the multiple reports of failure on shorter barreled magnums, such as this rifle, violated one my priorities for this build - absolute reliability.

Given that this will be a dedicated 30 cal hunting suppressor, I'm now looking at AB Raptor configurations (R4, R6, R8 with 2"-3" Bull Reflex) plus TBAC Ultra 7 DT or Ultra 5 DT. The brand new Dead Air Nomad Ti OTB looks very promising - I checked it out at SCI - but it has no track record beyond its cousin, the Nomad Ti XC. After achieving dB and recoil reduction, my primary concern is handling/rotational inertia vs. absolute weight and/or length, so optimizing the mix of both weight and forward protrusion is appealing to me, hence the mention of OTB suppressors.

Also at SCI, I spoke with a CGS rep who said that they will have an OTB suppressor out this year. This year's SHOT show was all about suppressors... what a time to be alive! ($0 tax stamp helps). Now, if all those cheap OTB suppressors from overseas would come over state-side...

I have the Scythe TI bought last fall, have put over 400 rounds of 22" 7 PRC throught it and a couple hundred 18" 6.5x55. I did not hear about them coming apart until after I bought it. Figured it would come arpart by now? I'm not real worried as they are local to me and I'm sure will sort it out real quick.

With that said we also have the Banish Backcountry for a couple seasons with a lot of rounds through it and its been great. Roughly same size and light as well. Been excellent. Maybe that is the better choice?? I think they Scythe TI has been out for a while and they fixed it by the time I got mine last fall??

I run the dead air nomad on my 308 rifle and love it. I also have the dead air mask for .22 caliber and it’s one of the best I’ve used.

You're not kidding, brother! The idea of a suppressor costing more than a rifle.....unglaubliche!

What sling studs do those swivels fit ? They look to be quite a bit wider than the standard modern swivels. They may be just what I need for my Remington 30 Express wide swivel studs. Can you measure the pin diameter ?

Do you know where your .240 Weatherby was manufactured?
