Soft topper from Lehigh Valley Pennsylvania

Welcome aboard Davidg8480. What do you plan to hunt on your second trip? Are you using your own rifles or renting? PA is a nice place to hunt, back in the day I shot a pheasant (while it was flying) with a recurve bow. Back then it wasn't luck, but it would be now.

Welcome! I know the Lehigh Valley well.
I grew up in PA outside of Philly, attended Lehigh University and have family in the Lehigh Valley (Allentown).

Thought I'd drop in and say hello I'm a little green around the edges and quite soft on top to Africa hunting. I have been trolling this AH web site for a couple of years now and have gotten a lot of useful information and i thank you all for that. So now i thought it's time to... close my eye, squeeze and the trigger and say" Howdy Hoo neighbors " to you fine people.

GutenTag/Hello,

Luv the ‘soft top’ reference - any Africa Hunting aspirations in your near future?

Absolutely, it was this website that helped me prepare for my virgin safari

Do post a report of the first adventure now that you have joined the posting side. Welcome.

Thanks for welcome and as far as posting a safari report that is a great idea. Is there a specific forum that you recommend for post safari reports ?

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
