Soft Points & Solids in a hot .375

I shoot H&H, Wby, and Rum, all good. I prefer the speed for follow up, may get a shot at him at a bad angle or longer shot running away. (always shoot till he is on the ground, make sure ph says it is correct animal). TSX or a frame. At that speed 300 is good. Last trip wife used 250 in her H&H. I used 270s in my Rum. You can’t push Barnes to fast. They are spectacular at 2700 plus. The lighter bullets reduce SD so they absorb more energy. 2 eland and a buff this trip. All noticeably staggered to the shot.

Im going to keep it short and simple slow them pills down get a good grouping. Shot placement is king. PERIOD. (as you folks on the other side of the pond say).
When hunting Biff I carry 5 solids IF I need them. So far they have never been used. I favour a bonded bullet as heavy as you can get/use.

Trust me you dont want that bullet passing through and hitting another animal.

We really should quit using those fast 30-06s and return to using 30-30s

Here's the target for the NorthForks - 25yds off a bag, iron sights. Hunting leopards over dogs the range won't be more than that.

Flew in an airshow in Smyrna years ago, beautiful country.

Best regards,

Franco
