I don't know about that croaking at 87. I quit showing up for employment when I was 61 and the payment plan on my savings was set to be exhausted when I was 85, So I've been getting the monthly payment for nearly 10 years, but there is more in the account than when I quit. So to deplete the account I'm going to have to live a lot longer than 85; Not sure if bullets multiply the way dollars do. If you you may have to increase your shooting or you'll be overrun with bullets.

The definitely don't multiply....I have even tried playing Barry White in the loading room. Didn't work!

Well I finally took some time to start setting all my stuff up in my new reloading room. Got everything unpacked, started organizing stuff, got the shot shell presses out, organized bullets and powder etc... still need to build my main bench. I also realized when I unpacked my single stage Rock Chucker Jr press it doesn’t have the removable bushing to accept the 1 1/4” dies that the new 577/450 Martini Henry dies use. So after many many years I’m going to have to buy a new press that will accept them. :mad:Probably a Lee this time.

Pretty tough to get any sexier than a Swift A-Frame stuffed into shiny new brass!
Hoping for some good results for my Eland medicine!

Powder type and charge?

I tried to check the calendar at PSC, to see if Range 1 is open tomorrow - but I can't get the site to open. You need to chrono those and shoot groups, eh?

Didn't know you had a baby gun.
It actually felt like I was doing something wrong. I made sure that the blinds were down so nobody see me when I started loading. Hell, when I went to the store to buy brass and bullets I wore a trench coat and a fake mustache and paid with cash. I would hate to get a reputation!
Cheers,
Cody

I think you'll be ok if you only truly have one 30-06. Me on the other hand I'm hopeless with 6 of them. It's always been my go to caliber, I'm glad to see you using IMR4350 it's been my go to powder for an 06 for a very long time.

So, there I was again in the loading room. Built my first 20 test loads for the 9.3x64 Brenneke.
Went with 5 each of 63, 64, 65 and 66 grains of RL-15 behind a 270 Speer with a CCI 250 primer.
Kind of a handsome cartridge with all kinds of potential for a future hunting trip!

Those are pretty sexy. I wish I had time to start the development of my 9.3x74r loads and to start making the 577-450 Martini-Henry ammo. I have everything I need now except for time. Good problem to have though.

So there I was in my little section of the garage aka my reloading room......weeping just a bit over my current stash of North Fork bonded cores knowing my next order will likely be my last.

bullthrower,
you are a man of good taste and great intuition.
given a chance, the 9.3 x 64 will give you good service and a lot of interesting fun.
you will find that most 9.3 bullets are meant for the lower velocities of the x62 and x74, and as such are more suited to smaller game.
this includes the nosler partition.
with h4350 you can get 2600 at less than max with 286 gn swift, and 2500 similarly with lighter than max pressures with the swift 300 gn.
these are powerful loads that are as effective on medium sized game as bigger species.
check out the point blank distance for +/- 3" with the 286 gn load.
it is useable to 300 yds where you will have to aim 9 - 10" high, and still fast enough to get bullet expansion at that range.
the 250 gn barnes and the 250 gn nosler accubond will do different jobs while overlapping and shooting quite flat.
I have tried re15, as it looks good on paper, but it has a very sudden appearance of high pressure, and could not give the velocities of h4350.
destroying cases with over pressure can be expensive in this chambering.
h4350 will need some compression, but if you work up it is a non issue.
re15 might be more suited to 235 and 250 gn bullets than heavier.
max loads with the 270 gn speer exhibited almost explosive results, suggesting use on whitetails and average pigs.
the 286 gn barnes would be nice, to try, but is just too long to get enough h4350 in the case.
I have often wondered how re17 and re16 would go in this case.
375 h@h ballistics in a 30/06 length action - what more could you ask for.
good luck,
bruce.

@Bullthrower338 : Cody...........the real reason you were in the loading room was that it is air conditioned. Too darn hot to be on the range!

@bruce moulds : As far as "375 h@h ballistics in a 30/06 length action", thought you were talking about the 375 Ruger there for a second. :)

BTW Cody, do you have your bags packed yet? Your Zim adventure with @tarbe has got to be getting close.

Kevin,
Played rookie league for the Yankees in Paintsville after winning the College World Series at Fullerton State, in1979. All I could think about was the movie “Deliverance”- lived up in a hollow with some other players. Refused to go on a moonshine run because it was a dry county-no way. Met some of the nicest people on the planet there! Van Lear the home of Loretta Lynn was highlight of summer LOL.
