finally got my sako black bear in 9.3x62 today. it is very light at 7lbs and has a short 21 1/4 inch barrel, which i like. it takes 5 rnds in the mag and one in the chamber.it has a detachable mag but can also be loaded from the top as well. it comes up very nicely with the sights perfectly aligned for me. its heading rapidly up the list of favourite toys the more i check it out :D IMG00593-20130702-1510.jpgIMG00598-20130702-1513.jpgIMG00599-20130702-1513.jpgIMG00603-20130702-1516.jpgIMG00605-20130702-1517.jpg

Very fine rifle. I'm the proud owner of a Sako 85 classic in 30-06 and I love it.

I'm thinking of buying a Black Bear for the Hogs, a nocturnal rifle :sneaky:

Great rifles - I have the Arctos in 30-06. Same rifle with a walnut stock. Mine shoots minute of a US nickel with darn near everything I feed it. I put a Leica 2.5x10 on it and it is my go to, general purpose rifle for stateside game. Almost pulled the trigger on the 9.3x62 (Euro-optic has them on hand) but already own a mauser in that caliber.

Enjoy the rifle! I have one (85, not part of the bear series) in .300 Win Mag with the same stock and I love the grip I can get on it when hunting in the rain.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.

Hi EGS

I read your thread with interest. Would you mind sending me that PDF? May I put it on my website?
