Hi Guy's
I am just wondering does anyone know where or who can make a replica set of tusks, I have some very old tusks and unfortunately they are split, and I would like if possible to have some replicas made.
Regards.
Chris.

you might take some 5 minute epoxy and put them back together, you can clean up the seam before the epoxy sets all the way with WHITE vinegar. let it cure, then fill with melted paraffin wax.
I fill all my tusk with paraffin wax to keep them fro cracking . Forrest

My taxidermist did the same thing.....filled the tusks with wax!

OK, I am somewhat new to this topic....Why will with Wax? What does the wax do to keep the tusks from splitting?

The wax seals the tusk , and keeps them from becoming brittle . Forrest

Ok well I will try and glue them and see what happens, but they are totally split and I am not all that confident it's going to work too well.

Why don´t you ask your taxidermist ? He probably has a solution for you.

yes if you don't feel comfortable , get a taxidermist to do it. Forrest

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
