Rebarrel a Tikka T3 from .30-06 to 9.3x62?

@TOBY458 where did you find that 9.3?

Oh no! I’d never sell a rifle! LOL!
But in all seriousness, if it shoots as well as most Tikkas do, I might put it in a heavier stock to get the whole package up to around 8lbs. My R8 375 only weighs 9lbs with scope, ammo and sling, so I think a 9.3 would be entirely reasonable in a 7.5-8lb total package. Heck, my R8 458 Win Mag only weighs 9lbs with an RMR installed and it’s not that bad. No way I’ll admit a puny little 9.3 is hard to handle! :ROFLMAO:
@TOBY458
The mates 458 went down the road after one shot. He bought it with 18 rounds of ammo, sold it with 17.
Bloody thing only weighed a bit over 7#. To say it was lovely was an understatement.

Sporty will be in understatement.
Me thinks it is going to slap you silly and it will go down the road in less than a box of ammo
Bob
This is me shooting a 375H&H that weighs 7.75 lbs easily and to be honest, I'd be happier if it weighed a little less.

Once a scope & rings are added to the Tikka, the weight will come up to around 7 - 7.25 lbs and it will be amazing. Especially considering the level of experience that @TOBY458 has.

You tell that mean old @Bob Nelson 35Whelen to be nice to me! He knows I have sensitive emotions! :ROFLMAO:

Me be nice, you would have more chance of winning an argument with your wife mate.
Be grateful you haven't told me you own a 243.

In fact I do own a 243. Currently I have it loaned out to my mom. She’s had an influx of hummingbirds in her flower garden this summer. I’ve instructed her, 100 grain loads only!

Did anyone ever make this conversion to 9.3x62? Just curious how it turned out.
here is mine: from a 30-06 to 9.3x62 left hand one,

  • boyds laminate stock
  • remington 700 open sights
  • barrel switched from a tikka t3x right hand
  • PR precision Tikka t3/t3x winter trigger guard

and all put together by Paul of PR precision.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
