We're talking about praise for sellers and buyers, but when we do have "mild" compaints its about speed of parcel services to deliver goods or payments back and forth. I get it, its an external factor beyond our control. Half of those complaints can be solved easily by my VERY good friends here: stop sending checks and money orders.
I want everyone to be treated as well or better than I'm treated, it is a paraphrase of the golden rule. How do I accomplish that?
1.) I get a computer and log in to create a digital Fedex or UPS shipping account. DIGITAL
2.) I verify my identity with the shipper to prevent fraud via SMS text and email verification. DIGITAL
3.) I get out my DIGITAL scale to precisely weigh the parcels so there is no price gouging on shipping.
4.) I DIGITALLY request a shipping pickup so the package is sent expeditiously.
5.) I DIGITALLY request a shipping label and one is issued instantly.
6.) We both DIGITALLY track the parcel to see where it is and to make sure it gets to the other party.
7.) If something goes wrong, I DIGITALLY report that the package is MIA.
8.) If something goes really, really wrong, I am required to file a DIGITAL claim for the item.
9.) If something is really valuable, I DIGITALLY email my insurance broker and get them to schedule the value of the item against my policy limits so it has durable coverage to cover a loss.
10.) I buy or sell an item on this classified forum, which is a transaction by DIGITAL means.
11.) I provide my phone and email to the buyer or seller to instill confidence in both parties good intentions. Both are DIGITAL means of communication.
12.) When I run out of shipping envelopes or boxes, I'm required to DIGITALLY request more from Fedex.
All of this is required in our modern world to do anything in life. It's absolutely required to provide any basic good or service in a reasonable timeframe. It's expected by any buyer. It's essential for any seller.
So why the hell do I get paper checks that take forever to arrive by snail mail, only to take a DIGITAL photograph of the paper so it DIGITALLY shows up in my bank account? If you aren't using DIGITAL payments you are asking for all the benefits and onus of the DIGITAL world, but are resorting to an unreliable and slow non-digital step.
I appeal to my friends, please get Zelle, Venmo, or Paypal to make life simple. By not participating, you're demanding all the benefits of digital from the other party, yet not holding up your side of the transaction to the same standard.
This is friendly and lighthearted advice, but people that use stamps and have checkbooks need to get with the program please.
