I misspoke.

My point is that Soros has figured out his fortune is better spent on State and Local political races, rather than National.
I agree.

I just find the fund raising trends of these mid terms elections interesting.

The Democrats are raising ALOT more money than the Republicans as reported by the FEC.... (top 9 of 10 are D)

So either the big Republican donors are contributing to Democrats, which is highly doubtful,...

Or, a significant portion of the average (less than top 10) Republican donors are sitting this one out....

The difference is PACs where the big individual money is going and individual donations directly to the candidate by voters which overwhelmingly seem to favor Democrats (FEC report).

Not sure of the significance, but the RNC has 8 times the cash on hand vs. what the DNC has
@Brent in Az Yes you are correct. Which also raises the question "Are they not spending it on the midterms"???

As of July the DNC had 16M with 17 M debt and fundraising of 9M.
While the RNC has 130M with no debt

@Tanks believe that PAC also are required to report contributions to campaigns to FEC, so that money should still show in the FEC report for the specific candidates

I wonder with campaign finances if there’s a point of saturation where more ads and more money spent stops paying dividends. I know I sure don’t need to see five billboards on the same stretch of road or hear the same commercial every music break. M

I hope the polling station workers weren’t sticking those on for her!

Nope. They were professional and friendly. I put them on her. ;)

I hope everyone votes.

I received my mail in ballot, however, I take it down to the polling station on election day and put it in the lock box myself.
I don't trust the mail carriers
Washington is mailing in as well. But I don’t send via USPS. I hand deliver to a lock box at the courthouse.

Exactly what I said and took my wife's ballot and.my own down to the lock box ballot drop.

There is a reason third world countries are third world. Importing the dregs of the third world to the first world doesn’t make them first world. It makes the first world the third world.

What building was that?

Also, how does one vote in the midterms if in Australia (my wife is an Okie who lives over here but retains citizenship). Or is it too late for that?

I re-registered at a local courthouse when I was in Montana hunting a couple of years ago and then voted in person. They send mail-in ballots but by the time they get here via international postal service there is no time to mail them back. I will drive there again to vote in person. Usually 21 to 24 hrs on the road.

I see today Trump is promising Kentucky $100M infrastructure investment IF the state votes Republican. Like he promised everyone $5K check in the mail AFTER the election. Of course the inference being GOP needs to win enough seats to make the checks good. He's resorting to buying votes now. Getting desperate. Personally, I find it insulting that he thinks I'm low enough to be bought off. This reminds me of the old days when party bosses would buy out the bars near polling station on election day and hand out free beer to voters.
