The first woman in 200 years to be executed survives 2 rounds of the lethal injection cocktail.

Women can't do anything as well as men, including dying. :ROFLMAO:

Opinions from the military ones here.....but to me this looks like a bit of a fkup by hegseth....or maybe he should be renamed Xi 2.....and musk part of the panel to look at future warfare.....

He is trying to eliminate most if not all administrative positions by general officers. Guess no one told him "an army marches on its stomach"?

From what I read one way he will accomplish that is to lower the rank requirements for a number of jobs so they can be done by colonels and navy captains.

However, at the same time he is getting rid of a lot of expertise and experience. Also, will people choose to retire as soon as they put in their 20 years if they know they do not have a chance or a very small chance to get their star? Put in your 20 years, retire as a colonel and make your way to C suite somewhere.

I cannot speak for other services, but in my experience the Air Force Reserves has been rank heavy for a long time. Way too many Colonels and Generals (1, & 2 stars, the Reserves Commander is the only 3 stars in the Reserves). Many pilots choose to get out at the rank of Lt Col or Colonel and go fly with the airlines vs. dealing with trying to find a job to be able to pin the next rank. And, if you are not in the click, you are SOL.

very, very, very few people make it to Colonel in 20.. thats a 25 year equation for most.. when youre approaching O6 (colonel) youre typically right at the 20 year mark.. if youre promotable, they offer to pin the eagles on you, but thats in exchange for a 5 year commitment that takes you to 25 years.. otherwise you revert to O5 when you actually retire (Lt. Col).

When youre looking at flag officers youre almost always dealing with someone thats got 25-30 years in.. sometimes more.. that got promoted "below the zone" a couple of times along the way (high achievers/high performers that get promoted on a faster track than their peers)..

I havent been following Hegseth on the reduction of GO's thing very closely.. he may well be making a mistake in how things are being restructured.. I truly dont know... BUT...

He's not wrong that the military has gotten fat with GO's and very senior NCO's (E9's).. And leadership at the most senior levels is disproportionate to the size of the total force.. I'd offer that the SES ranks are a whole lot worse though and thats where he should be cutting.. the number of Senior Executive Service civilians running around the various commands and inside the pentagon has gotten crazy.. most of those positions should be held by GO's, not SES.. and a lot of those positions are politically motivated and dont really serve the purpose they should (dont need to be held by someone of that high "rank)....

My bigger concern with whats going on in the GO ranks isnt that the the number is being reduced.. its who he is chosing to force out and who he is letting stick around... he's pushed some very serious talent out prematurely IMO..

the USAF is particularly bad about this... especially among pilots..

the Army isnt without its warts.. and Im sure the USMC and Navy have problems too.. Ive been told about the Filipino Mafia in the USN NCO corps for decades...

But in my experience, the USAF is the worst of the services when it comes to "who you know" as opposed to "what you know"...

Fox is reporting that the co-pilot was trying to preform a jihadist terrorist attack and kill everyone on the plane.
And Fox is always such a reliable news source! Their Dominion Voting Machine "scoop" comes right to mind ... among countless other fake news reports. At least Dominion made them pay ... big!

Apparently the wounded pilot was able to open the cockpit door to get help. But unable to stabilize the plane. Dubai and Saudis are still staying mum. I think I'd be more inclined to trust a Saudi investigation than one conducted by present radical regime in Israel. Apparently the copilot was from Yemen? Hmmm. I'm guessing flights through Dubai will be very far below passenger capacity for the foreseeable future!

Very true my friend! This is why many of them bail out and head to the airlines. We've lost too many pilots because of this. Too much BS for what they do, and too much political games. An example would be when it comes down to which Wing will go do what, which deployments, who's getting the credits for who's dropping what and where, and so on.

I agree. A lot of shooting from the hip. I can't imagine that it's not demoralizing the armed forces ... when the country is at war. Certainly the timing does not look good. And then factor in midterm elections just around the corner when how things look can be so critical. Seems to be a pretty dumb move on the face of it ... combined with a parade of dumbness the last two years. Hegseth just comes off as an abrasive not so bright loudmouth who doesn't think before shouting. Fits right in with the rest of Trump's clown troupe cabinet.

"An abrasive not so bright loudmouth who doesn't think before shouting"

Well ....that certainly fits the narrative of the pot calling the kettle black.

According to you and the rest of the leftwing media lunatic fringe, it was probably just a lover's quarrel in the cockpit with sharp edged weapons at 35,000 feet.

Nothing to see here folks

For crying out loud give it up Trump and grow up. Am I the only one fed up with tax dollars being wasted in the courts fighting over his petty Reflecting Pool bullshit? Again, the timing is so stupid with elections around the corner. How can anyone have faith in this govt?

A little history lesson for the professor. This is a picture from July 1976, when Israeli forces led by Yoni (Jonathan) Netanyahu flew from Israel to Uganda to rescue hostages held by PLFP terrorists.
Yonatan_Netanyahu_ca_1974.jpg

This is Col. Netanyahu shortly before leading the Sereyet Metkal raid to rescue the 105 hostages at Entebbe, Uganda. He was the only Israeli soldier killed during the raid.

This is Benjamin Netanyahu, brother of Jonathan Netanyahu. Both served in the top Anti-Terrorist units of the Israeli Army. So rather than threaten to shoot innocent children in the kneecap, these men actually fought real terrorists.

But you think they are radical and the Saudi Government is a more reliable source?

The same Saudi Government that sent a member of the Royal family to torture and murder Jamal Kashoggi?

Oh wait, here's another interesting historical tidbit.
images (23).jpeg

This is Dictator for life and alleged canibal Idi Amin of Uganda. Information obtained after the hostages were rescued at Entebbe revealed that Amin was a co-conspirator with the terrorists, and the murder of Dora Bloc, a hostage in hospital at the time of the raid, took place on his orders.

After he was overthrown Amin was granted asylum in ...wait for it... Saudi Arabia.

So you think you're going to get any reliable information from the Saudis? Try typing in Saudi Royal family Jamal Kashoggi murder in any combination you like and see what google ai gives you for a response.

Uh huh, the Saudi's can be trusted, because it's those evil Joooz causing all the trouble.

I don't trust the Saudis. I just trust them to be more truthful than the present regime in Israel. The bar is set very low no matter who you pick.

Good that they sent the Israeli passengers on their way as soon as possible. Showed some surprising sensibility and compassion given current situation in Middle East. I'm seeing zero compassion and sensibility in current Israeli regime.
