Never said Trump didn't have a diploma. But did he actually deserve one? He claims over and over that he has a genius IQ. His transcripts likely will tell a different story and that's why he doesn't want anyone to see them (even though he promised to make them public). I mean really? Do you think someone who writes and talks like Trump does could actually have a university degree obtained genuinely? He's demonstrated over and over that his knowledge of all things is not even eighth grade. Geography, math, science, history, even basic US govt that any HS graduate should know. Beyond his lack of basic knowledge of essentially all things, the guy simply does not have the maturity level to get through a university program. Not without the "weaponized" influence of significant others.

George W and Biden acknowledged their post-secondary efforts were far short of stellar. I'm not sure if they ever made their university transcripts public, but their confessions didn't make it necessary. Trump, on the other hand, perpetually proclaims himself to be a genius with a corresponding IQ. Now, that's an extraordinary claim that needs to be verified, especially since he clearly seems to have trouble negotiating words with more than two syllables. Read his tweets or watch his press conferences and tell me it isn't so. Yes, if he wants to make outlandish and improbable claims re his intellectual capacities, he should provide some proof beyond simply a a diploma list that anyone with any experience in post-secondary or even graduate level education knows can be purchased.

you actually did question if he attended.. and you have questioned it before.. if he didnt attend, then no, he wouldnt have a diploma... but the FACTS clearly show he did attend..

so now with that argument slayed, you want to speculate whether he deserved a diploma..

Did you deserve yours? you love to call people idiot, fathead, etc.. while constantly demonstrating that you have no ability to research or derrive actual facts before stating bloviated opinions as fact.. We have verifiable proof that Trump attended an Ivy League school and graduated.. we have nothing from you other that your statements.. and those appear to be in question based on the huge amount of unsubstantiated BS you spew and the apparent lack of ability to research (something a PhD would be an expert at)..

Do I think someone that writes and talks like Trump could have a university degree? Yes... and any academic like you proclaim to be would have the same opinion... Ive known quite a few absolutely brilliant people that are at the same time horrible orators.. a few of them in fact are PhDs.. they're living Mr. Magoo's... they are so deep in their heads working complex problems that their ability to express things to others is a challenge for them..

Trump proclaims himself a genius.. and you call him an idiot..

You continue to tout a supposed PhD that you earned.. and numerous people here call you an idiot..

Is that alone enough to confirm you dont have a PhD?

You speak to his lack of knowledge on things.. and yet you come here daily and spout bullshit and demonstrate a complete lack of knowledge on things you claim to be an expert at (like say.. political history)... again, it was just an hour or so ago you stated Obama released his transcripts and both Clintons released their transcripts.. you obviously have zero knowledge of the matter and speak to it anyway.. so.. is that enough for all of us to confirm you are an idiot and obviously dont hold a PhD? or did you perhaps make yet another mistake, either intentionally or accidentally, just like Trump?

Biden did not acknowledge his grades were less than stellar.. in 1987, when running for public office he lied and claimed to have graduated at the top of his law class and was on a full scholarship.. the truth is he graduated 76th out of a class of 85 and was not on a full ride.. He has also overstated the number of degrees he holds and has lied a number of times about his educational accomplishments..

so.. you once again make a statement as if it is fact.. that is completely unsubstantiated.. that turns out to be absolutely false... Im wondering if the reason you hate Trump so much isnt because you are a whole lot like him?

He likes to make outlandish claims.. you make outlandish easily refutable claims regularly...

Maybe The Donald is actually an AH member and is just using the pseudonym Ontario Hunter? lol..

....

Correct. He admitted failing as a lawyer not as an academic. But at least he had the honesty to release his university record to confirm he exaggerated. Ain't much but it's something. :D Don't misunderstand, Biden was never my cup of tea but I could not vote for a proven idiot.
the honesty?

he intentionally and purposefully lied on camera for personal gain (he was running for public office)..

he only released the records because he had been caught and it was part of his public apology..

had other students not already come forward and the story not already been on the street proving he was a liar, he would have never come clean..

thats neither honesty or integrity.. thats trying your best to save as much face as you can so that you can remain in office..

The only thing a wealthy dad can do is pay for tuition, getting in, for the most part, is up to the student and graduating is definitely up to the student.
Well, your lack of experience teaching is shining through. I have personal experience which confirms otherwise. I was told to pass a politician's son simply because he'd paid tuition. The reality was of course much deeper than merely tuition. I know worse stuff happened. Not just bribes and intimidation. Even sexual favors ... at a law school! Find me a post-secondary school that is not subject to political pressure/interference. Not on this planet.

I would just like to point out that many people here would be much calmer if they'd use the "Ignore" button.

To really make it work, you also should also refrain on clicking the link marked "You are ignoring content by this member. Show ignored content."

Lowered my blood pressure a bunch. You're welcome.

Gents, the monkeys are going to keep throwing shit at you despite you feeding them. Walk away.

Trump was not there in an athletic scholarship. Legacy points and money only go so far for everyone else.

A question for the members that are well versed in the goings on in the Middle East. How much would it take for the countries surrounding Iran to get tired of Iran sending missiles into their countries, to get fed up with them, form a coalition and end the Persian threat once and for all. If I recall they have struck UAE, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain and maybe even Saudi Arabia. I realize most were targeting US interest but some hit airports and other infrastructure.

Also when this whole thing is over would it be feasible to build a giant pipeline or several for that matter across the UAE to load oil into tankers and bypass Iran all together?

The problem is the ME is fragmented beyond the lines of Sunni and Shia..

Both Qatar and the Saudis want to be the "leaders" in the region.. they are constantly competing for control and influence and rarely agree on anything..

the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, and others largely rely on foreign nationals to man their armies.. you might get a Kuwaiti to fly a fighter.. but youre not going to get one to load the main gun on a tank..

the entire Bahrain military (army, navy, and air force) is barely more than 8000 people..

The Jordanians are probably the most capable soldiers overall.. but they are also a relatively small fighting force overall with about 95,000 people in their army, navy, and air force combined..

If Iran went into an all out war situation with the entire gulf region (Jordan isnt part of the gulf region, but we'll include them in the equation for the sake of argument), it would take a coalition just to be able to defend themselves..

Overall the gulf states have much better weapons systems than the Iranians.. the Saudis have F15SA's and some Euro Fighters and are pending delivery on some F35's.. most of the gulf countries have advanced tanks like the Challenger II, M1 Abrams, etc.. but the quality of their militaries overall is fairly lacking (lots of foreign nationals and lots of conscripts), and the total quantity of the militaries combined is much smaller than Irans..

All of that said, we and the Israelis have knocked a huge hole in the Iranians capabilities.. they dont really have the ships/boats left to defend their ports.. dont have aircraft left to do any measure of bombing or fending off fighters.. etc.. Assuming the US continued to stay engaged and helped with knocking down ballistic missiles, knocking out radar stations, knocking out drone manufacturing facilities, etc.. I think a coalition of gulf nations could potentially take out Iran..

but.. its not really a given... and considering that most of Bahrains military is made up of Yemeni, Pakistani, and Sudanese soldiers.. most of Qatars enlisted soldiers are pakistani, indian, and IRANIAN.. most of Kuwaits enlisted men are Bangladeshi, Pakistani, and Yemeni, etc..etc.. I wouldnt expect their militaries to fight too fiercely in an offensive operation..

John Taylor gatto talked about former presidents and would be presidents college grades during a 06 speech on his book “weapon's of mass instruction”.. I recommend both his books if you homeschool your kids or grandkids.
Bush had a 77 average, John kerry was a 75 or 76, al gore also a c,d student, John f Kennedy was a c student and FDR bragged about being a D student.

All I know with trump is if he’s considered a failure speaking strictly from an accolade point of view as a billionaire, world wide name recognition and a us president. What does that say about everyone one of us on this site.

Iran's Arab neighbors have relatively small populations and correspondingly small military establishments. For instance, Qatar, which has the dubiously delicate responsibility of sharing its natural gas field with Iran, has a resident population of over 3 million. But only 330,000 are actually Qatari citizens. Hence, rank and file troops are largely from poorer neighboring states - many from Pakistan. That sort of model is true through most of the Gulf. The Saudis are an exception. Their Air Force and National Guard (internal security) are Saudi nationals. Their pilots are US or British trained and are flying excellent aircraft (F-35, F-15, and Typhoon aircraft). However, by US standards they are inexperienced and do not the have sheer depth of platforms, logistics or support facilities to maintain extended operations. Their land forces are equipped with modern US and French fighting vehicles, but due to the limited population, overall manning runs around 65-70 percent. With a total population of only19 million the Saudi's have no realistic means of fully manning those forces.

As a result, the armed forces of the Arab Gulf States represent some deterrent value to Iran's regional ambitions, but do not represent forces capable of projecting power. This is particularly true when we look at the physical size and population of Iran. The total number of people residing in the Arab Gulf States is around 60 million. Only around 28 million are actually citizens of those countries. Iran, on the other hand, has a population of nearly 100 million.

Even Israel, as competent a military as exists anywhere, is unable to project power into Iran. It can strike it with bombs and standoff munitions, but it has no capability to dictate a peace from the main square of Tehran.

Is it possible to get a grade for a university course without attending? Yes. I know because I did it. Once. There is/was a loophole that allowed students to "challenge" a course. Only required passing a comprehensive final exam. It was a required basic biology course that I was certain I could pass given the extensive advanced biology/science courses I had already taken. But there were conditions. I had to pay full tuition (fair enough). The course grade depended entirely on that exam. Also, the prof had to agree to it. This prof, Jeanette and don't recall her last name, did NOT agree. I appealed to the dept head and after a sit-down between the three of us she agreed. I thought her resistance was due to having to write a separate exam. I aced it. Nearly 100%. Afterwards she told me why she resisted. This was a convenient way for "connected" students to get through university programs without attending courses or even passing any kind of legitimate exam. She was concerned about some pressured "interference" during the exam or during the grading. Once she actually met me, she was convinced I was the real deal and agreed.

And of course there's the "extension courses" that require little or no attendance. Often the final exam is not monitored (if there is a final exam). These courses are usually identified on transcripts. As are the notorious pass/fail courses. Those are 100% discretionary.

Two things stand out about Trump's education (or lack thereof?). First, what happened in the eighth grade when he suddenly left elementary school for the military "academy" (boarding school). What exactly were "the behavioral issues" that precipitated his departure? Then after two years at Fordham he transferred to Wharton. Why? His niece says her mom drove Trump all up and down the northeast coast trying to find a university that would accept him. What was the problem? Poor grades or more "behavioral issues?" Keep in mind that Trump needed to maintain a passing grade point average to keep his student deferment (i.e. avoid the draft and Vietnam). Perhaps he was having trouble keeping his grades up at Fordham, and Wharton was more agreeable, either the program or to being influenced? Again, I think a peek at his transcripts might answer some questions. Why would he threaten Wharton (or anyone associated with the university) for disclosing his academic history if he actually is a genius with nothing to hide?

My specialty was business history. It entailed more than a few economics courses along the way. Not easy! Chemistry was the most challenging for me but economics was on the podium. I simply cannot believe a guy who thinks drinking disinfectant is okay or who publicly portrays himself as Jesus Christ would have the brains to get a genuine university degree in anything, let alone economics. Trump's extraordinary lack of intelligence is on display every day. And it's his show. Entirely.

When I was applying for employment I had to provide my prospective employer with certified copies of my transcripts (NOT just a copy of graduation programs!) and copies of my discharge DD214 and letter from VA confirming disability. The public is Donald Trump's employer. Is the public not entitled to check his credentials? Should we (remember, I am a US citizen) not similarly be entitled to review his transcripts and the documentation confirming his disability that supposedly excluded him from military service? He said we could see those documents. But he never has produced them. Don't you wonder why?

and what does this have to do with anything?

assuming Trump has done this... that makes him even more like you since you claim this is something you have done...

For what its worth, what you are describing is COMMON... I had a good friend (now passed away) that received a bachelors degree after only taking 2 years of classes.. he clepped his way through 2 years of classes while he was still serving on active duty in the USMC..

he demonstrated that he had the knowledge required to pass the class without sitting in the class itself... what difference does it make if he sat in front of a professor or not? he had the required knowledge..

the CLEP program was first introduced in 1965... its been around a long time.. there are 1700 CLEP exam facilities in the US and more than 2000 worldwide today.. Almost every regionally accredited university in the US accepts CLEP credits to one degree or another... If you are the PhD that you claim to be and actually taught at the university level, you'd know this..

universities also give course credit for military experience.. I got out of a handful of classes because of my DD214..

so what?

Are you ignorant enough to believe that me getting credit for classes I never sat through despite meeting all of the universities requirements negates any of my 4 degrees?

another who cares?

Steve Jobs is well documented to have had severe behavioral issues his entire life.. His GPA coming out of High School was 2.65 (confirmed in his FBI file).. he dropped out of college after 1 semester...

I suppose you think Jobs was also an idiot and incapable of success?

You have no facts so you resort to speculation that is unfounded.... just more bullshit from someone thats proven that they are incapable of reseasrch..

so what if Trumps grades are good or bad? so what if he has behavioral issues?

Why would he threaten Wharton for disclosing his academic history? well.. to begin with, it would be a violation of law (not that you care about facts or legality) and prior preidents (Bush in particular) had their transcripts leaked after stating that they did not want them released..

Why havent you posted your transcripts? feel free to redact your name and any other PII... just scan them in and prove to AH membership that youre not the idiot we all believe you to be...

Funny.. a business historian that has no understanding of business and that often posts drivel rather than substantiating his statements with research or fact..

my specialty is business... I hold a BBA, an MS in Strategic Management, and an MBA.. and am mid a DBA program... I have held senior leadership and executive positions in mid market to large sized firms for more than 20 years and have been a CEO for 8...

So youve taken an economics course or two... so what? do you really believe that makes you an expert at anything related to business?

Ive been doing it at the most senior level for two decades and am still learning...

Happy to discuss McGreggors Theory X with you or Porters 5 Forces if you like...

academic theory means nothing without practical application and understanding of the outcomes...

There you have it Ontario hunter said the United States would always be his home so that settles it once and for all. HE IS NOT CANADIAN. Score 1/0 for Canada.

Possession is nine tenths of the law. He just can't "identify" as American.

you get to keep his brilliant business mind... and we get to keep the boobies..

I don't recall any of those men declaring themselves to be geniuses. Obviously, if Mr. Gatto was able to speak with authority on the GPA of those individuals, they gave access to their scholastic records. Mediocre maybe, but nothing to be ashamed of. Trump on the other hand ... ???

Joseph Stalin was one of the most powerful men in modern history. A peasant with almost no education and by all accounts stupid as a sack of hammers. Yet there he was controlling half the world. Only proves that even a dumbass bonehead moron in the right place at the right time can do a whole lot of wrong for a very long time. Stalin maintained control by keeping his goons in fear of each other and the secret police. Purges were his lifeline distraction. Sound familiar? We call it "weaponization" today. Or "draining the swamp."

So are you equally upset that Clinton, Obama, Biden, and every other D candidate and president in the last 100 years has not released their transcripts? In fact, there is no record of ANY US President ever voluntarily releasing their transcripts...

but... we should hold Trump to a standard that no one else has been held to.. because some random dude on the internet that claims to have a PhD demands it (all the while refusing to prove his own educational standing to AH)...

Andrew, I commented that your on 375 H&H for sale was the fair price.

Like I commented, my classic stainless has the original 24” barrel.

Did you buy yours with the barrel already cut down to 21” or did you do it (or a gunsmith)?
