That forward operation base. Wow right in the hart of Iran.
Just copied this off of X

“Location of the USAF forward base set up deep within Iran for the F-15 crew rescue mission. The base was set up just outside of Isfahan, a critical Iranian strategic hub with missile and army bases, nuclear facilities, and the airbase home to Iran’s F-14 fleet.”

Trump getting a little salty?....lol

I don’t get why general officers in the Air Force really hate the A-10. Do we have anything else that can replace it?

I don’t think they hate it, it comes down to budget cuts.

I’m sure all the Air Force guys at Barksdale AFB liked the golf course on base, but it got shut down due to budget cuts. Is this anyway to run an Air Force????? No golf, no glory!

Browsing X for a few minutes this morning - any longer and you need a bath - and two groups are trying to spin this as a failure. One is the socialist left who are screaming loosing 100's of millions in aircraft is a disaster, and the other are the Iranians and their supporters. claiming a great victory because of the destruction of two C-130's and the praising of IRGC casualties who forced the Americans to run away.

Each is illustrative of a mindset that is the antithesis of our traditional culture and ethos. On the one hand the socialist hive mind discounts the value of the individual against the costs to the state - 21st century Marxism in its purist and most inhuman form. The Iranians, on the other hand, celebrate martyrdom, an ancient and barbaric cult of death for the glory of God and the Caliphate.

What American airman, soldiers, sailors, and marines absolutely know is that full power and might of the US armed forces stand resolutely behind them. "No man left behind" is a very real ethos. We move heaven and earth to bring home our dead as well as the living. Thirty years of military service has long convinced me that sort of confidence breeds a far bolder and lethal force.

Hats off to my search and rescue brethren and the pipe hitters that covered them.

I bet those f15 boys are very grateful for sere training right about now.

SERE. it's not just a weight loss program! You also learn some Kipling.

One of my best friends is a retired warthog driver. Now flies for United.
He has one of the barrels hanging above his front door. It's like 6 feet long. I can't imagine being on the receiving end of that thing spitting rounds.

I have more respect for the enemy than the Marxist left.

The Iranian propaganda is nauseating, but predictable. The rabid, foaming at the mouth, defeat cheering, cowardly leftists I have no use for.

What the Air Force detests is the close air support mission. The A-10 has been performing that beautifully, but because they hate the mission, they have been trying to unload the aircraft for thirty years. It is the major reason the Air Force did not object to the Army developing attack helicopters in the seventies. It was a mission that they did not want.

The Air Force wants to spend money on fighters and strategic bombers. Anything else detracts from that intent.

Air Force combat operations are based upon a 72hr Air Tasking Order (ATO). It is a complex planning tool that takes 72hrs to marry target, correct munition, correct aircraft, logistics, and support (jamming, ADA suppression, etc) for a strike. That portion of the ATO that supports ground forces is called battlefield interdiction. Those targets include rail and road congestion points like defiles and bridges, troop concentrations, and higher level command posts. Important targets for sure, but a rather different mission than screaming in to support a platoon leader under fire yelling for immediate steel on target NOW.

The USAF has been looking to kill the A10 forever. When I was at General Dynamics in the early 90's they were trying to make a CAS (Close Air Support) fighter out of the F-16. As great an airplane the F-16 has been and continues to be, it was never designed for nor ever would be good in the role of CAS.

The A10 is pretty much everything the modern air force doesn't want in an airplane. It's slow as hell, certainly not stealthy nor technologically advanced. However it is designed for that role being heavily armored and with that famous Gatlin gun in its nose, it's everything the ground troops want. In other words its designed to take a beating and make it back home.

Modern USAF jets are more designed to avoid even being shot at much less actually hit. Understandable for their intended roles and overall cost.

Ask any service member in harms way and they would unwittingly align themselves closer to the Iranian soldiers mindset of believing in something greater themselves.

Although, The U.S. military mind is more aligned to serving the person next to them than religious or patriotic causes.

Also, the Leftist are proclaiming war crimes for bombing bridges and infrastructure.

If the Left takes control of the House this fall. Stand by for two years of impeachment of the President and Cabinet members, and War crimes charges against senior Republicans.

Hope we get to hear it.
Take my hat off to the guys and girls going in to get your pilot!
Something akin to kicking the hornets nest then sticking your hand in to get your boot out.

I would bet at least one book has already been started.

Well I think we've officially gotten the answer.......
Don’t worry, the UK more concerned about having feminine hygiene products in the Men’s Room. Tampon Tim would be proud.

One of things not being discussed is Iran's work with biological weapons. I know this was a concern with Iraq is it also a concern with Iran?

I honestly think the UK is MUCH more concerned about their recent immigrant population throwing a full on domestic revolt that I honestly believe the UK wouldn't have a popsicles chance in hell of putting down.

Yeah, definitely has the smell of a immigration or human rights type of lawyer.
My goodness, human rights...what a terrible thing. Immigration, also a terrible thing I guess. Particularly in America.

But let me help you. 90% of my work is representing people who were sexually abused as children.

Tell us about your career now professor.

Andrew, I commented that your on 375 H&H for sale was the fair price.

Like I commented, my classic stainless has the original 24” barrel.

Did you buy yours with the barrel already cut down to 21” or did you do it (or a gunsmith)?
