The ID was the part of SAVE you wanted to argue...

Now you want to move the goal posts and argue something different..

The SAVE act does not federalize elections.. what it does do is add federal requirements that states, who continue to have election administration responsibility that have to be executed..

SAVE does in fact cause a purge of voter rolls.. but it requires that to happen in a very specific way.. states are required to continuously monitor, identify, and remove any non US Citizen from its rolls... it doesnt blanket remove anyone.. but what it does do is mandate a verification system that would cause removals.. Im not too sure many people other than you would argue that its a bad thing for non US Citizens to be removed from the voter rolls..

I never wanted to argue about anything, yet more lies on your part. I simply joined an existing conversation on here about ID requirements and their constitutionality, or lack thereof.

The states already remove suspected non-citizens, deceased people, and non-residents from their voter roles. They’ve been doing that for years. Once again, a solution in search of a problem.

If the states already remove dead people, non residents, and non citizens effectively.. then what exactly is the problem with passing a law that affirms what they already claim to do?

Your last sentence is where your problem is.. you simply dont trust that the system, which hasnt been created yet, will meet your requirements...

that is a problem completely separate from the SAVE act..

There is a huge difference in a H2A Visa SSN and a US Citizens..

The H2A is issued with a "Valid Only for Working with DHS Authorization" note.. it does not authorize them to obtain a US passport, DL, etc..etc..

A US Citizens SSN opens the doors to obtain proof of citizenship.. but is not proof of citizenship in and of itself..

I realize that, but it could’ve been confusing to people that have never had to deal with it.

I'm just sitting here trying to figure out why Federal involvement in elections was a brilliant idea when Nancy Pelosi wanted it, but now is the end of the world as we know it.

Then again, perhaps if one truly wanted to preserve democracy, it would seem ideal that one ensures only eligible voters can vote, because a system without that would seem ripe for exploitation by any side. But there I go trying to apply logic again.

That said, and in the interest of brevity, I only want to make three points today:

Regarding your conservatism.. go back and read @RLD ’s earlier post… European conservatism isn’t exactly the same thing as American conservatism… you may use the same word… but your belief system is clearly very different in Norway than it is in the US..

We can engage in the same old argument if you wish… we can start with no one really cares about your opinion of Trump… most Americans don’t like him much either..

The difference is most that don’t like him on this side of the Atlantic can separate disliking the man from liking or not liking policy…

Some of what he has done, most Americans support.., some of what he has done, most don’t support.. and some of what he’s done the country is pretty evenly divided on…

On Iran, everyone other than the extreme far left and interestingly enough the extreme far right (like Tucker) is either completely on board or at least partially on board…

So, your “conservative” position is clearly very different than ours…

Make no mistake, he’ll “restore” the mess with Iran as far as the US is concerned…

Your problem, as has already been discussed numerous times is, he has no interest or desire to concern himself with Europe’s related issues regarding Iran..

…99 illegal aliens voting since 1982, less than 3 per year. Im pretty sure than more than 3 Americans per year will be prevented from voting if the SAVE act passes. Its a made-up non issue. A solution in search of a probelm.

Washington state has had their gubernatorial race decided by less than 500 votes several times; a federal audit found that 1,200 illegals voted in those elections.

Local elections is where this is key and exactly why you see situations like Minnesota.
