If/when the airlines run dry on jetfuel and fuel for cars towards the summer the blame will be on Trump and Bibi..no matter on how much you care for your national interest..

I am very aware that the people who presently run USA and Israel only act in their nations interest..that point has been proved beyond any doubt..

lol… now you really must spend a week with Ontario Hunter… you two could refine your clown show to the point you could take it on the road and make some money…

Oh.. wait… there won’t be any fuel for that! lol..

Since you won’t be able to travel.. perhaps you could take some time and let me know the last time the EU acted in the US’s best interest rather than its own… I’d be curious to find out..

Waiting to see your great leader solving this energy crisis.. :A Stirring:

Yah, the Europeans seem to be great at waiting, not so much at leading.

You’re going to love his solution…

It’s one where he’s doesn’t consider what Europe wants.. and focuses on the US’s interests

You are going down the road to be extremely unpopular globally if the energy crisis drag on..and subsequently become more politically isolated..
If you think USA is after being popular you are mistaken. Yes, Obama and Biden wanted to be loved. Not so for others.
BTW, I don't see you putting any blame on Iranian tactics.

The refining capability is there, the major producers that are not being hemmed in by the Strait of Hormuz can step up to make the difference. I am sure Norway would love to sell more oil at $100+/barrel. Not to mention other producers around the World.

You think anyone is surprised that liberal Europeans are pontificating about Trumps dillema, while US podcasts continue to speak to a desire to continue the mission until Iran is completely broken..

Once again, no one on this side of the Atlantic cares about what liberal Europeans think..

Tanks..there is hardly production capability globally to replace the 20% of oil suddenly missing over night..it will take time to ramp up production...we sell whatever we can produce of oil and gas..but we presently are at 1.8 - 1.9 million barrels per day..

???.... Not seeing an "energy crisis". But then I was around in 1973 when there really was one. Long lines at gas pumps and defacto rationing. 5 gallons per customer. Price tripled over night. $.25/gallon to $.75/gallon. I think we will make it thru this hickup just fine. You folks, maybe not so much.

This is interesting:

With allied nations currently refusing to contribute escort vessels, the Pentagon faces a calculation in the Strait of Hormuz. Is risking a $2 billion Arleigh Burke destroyer against the potential threat of a saturated drone attack an acceptable cost to reopen global shipping, or has the surface fleet simply become too vulnerable to operate in constrained littoral waters?

You can go on and preach to the choir on this forum about how great this war is while your administration do not seem to have a clue on how to end this..

The rest of the world hardly believe in this project..

Turned out to be a bad omen when you changed The Department of Defence to The Department of War..

But hey...Trump promised you no more wars remember..??

WTF..? War Minister..?

Well at the very least one can be sure that his focus always is on whats best for himself, and hopefully that coincides with whats good for the US more often that not ;)

Brent my friend..thank you for contributing so eloquently in this discussion..you reached new height now.. :X3:

Industry says 1-3 months of global ramp up gets it done, but is unstable.. 3-12 months is stable but no surge capacity… 12+ months and the straits no longer matter because there would be global restructuring that eliminates the straits of hormuz as a necessity.. it simply becomes a surplus after that..

So overnight, no..

Sucking for 1-3 months in exchange for eliminating the worlds largest participant in state sponsored terrorism that was actively trying to pursue nuclear munitions for the last 47 years?

Thats a price the US is willing to pay… and doesn’t care if Europe is upset as part of the process

Considering there are 3 carrier battle groups already involved in Iran, and each of those battle groups have 3 AB destroyers (a total of 9 are already in theater).. and there are two MEU inbound, each of which have an AB destroyer with them…

There will be 11 AB destroyers in theater with days.. as well as several larger cruisers that are armed with similar weapons systems…

It seems to me the calculation is already made and the decision associated is already made..

We have the assets in theater to secure OUR interests…

But if you want your interests secured.. you’ll need to participate..

Pretty simple math..

It will be a risky not to mention costly operation..and for how long..?

An Arleigh Burke burns 1400 gallons marine distillate kerosene per hour at 20 knots.. And thats just the fuel..

Why do you seem obsessed with costs to the U.S.? What difference does it make to you what we spend or what we spend it on?

Andrew, I commented that your on 375 H&H for sale was the fair price.

Like I commented, my classic stainless has the original 24” barrel.

Did you buy yours with the barrel already cut down to 21” or did you do it (or a gunsmith)?
