russian army isnt as bad as people think
I’m sure @Red Leg or @mdwest would know better but I cant see how Russia could operate on two fronts one of which an ocean away while simultaneously opening up the possibility of American intervention in Ukraine. If trump wanted to take Cuba realistically china would be his only deterrent.

Meanwhile in Belgium:
qoute/unqoute:
"Given that we are unable to pressure Putin by sending weapons to Ukraine, and cannot suffocate his economy without US support, only one method remains: making a deal," he said.

I'm sorry, but Belgium was "run over" TWICE in WW1 and WW2 by Germany. When will Belgium and other European countries stand up for themselves and pay the price to have strong militaries for defense of their countries instead of spending their treasures on welfare for many of their useless non working citizens and immigrants (same in the US) and relying on others for their defense. IMO, making a "deal" with Putin is like making a deal with the Devil.

Even just on one front. There soldiers have a very high degree of variability in quality and training.

China would be even less of a detterent because they have 0 direct acess. At least russia has naval assets in the atlantic.

Does Trump have to do anything? Sounds like Cuba is in a pretty bad state without Venezuelan support. Wouldn't the most logical conclusion be to wait till they reach out.

Greta was literally complaining earlier this week that America was cutting off oil from Cuba. I would have thought she would have been happy.
It’s only important that the US go green energy… everyone else can fuck the planet up as much as they please :D :D :D

The Russian Army was miserably trained and organized by NATO standards in 2022. Now that cadre is long dead. Their SOF forces were destroyed in the first six-months of the Ukraine war. Their twenty- year modernization effort is nothing but rusting metal on the Ukrainian Steppes. They are a third world power with some working nukes.

Your conservative party is soft and weak.

We certainly won't lose any sleep over Canada's disdain for Trump
Agree Brent, but our conservative party is also soft and weak.....may I add gutless weasels who are rudderless unless Trump is behind them kicking them in the butt. Save Act....should be a slam dunk with the percentages I see supporting it in the country....85% by some reports. Don't see many Republicans out there voicing their opinions and support for conservative ideas. Why can't they just do whatever it takes? The Democrats will if they get the House and Senate. I have little confidence in our Republican (dare I say Conservative) party. Trump has plenty of faults but he has come up with some creative solutions that may or may not work but only a strong leader can bring that message of hope to a country.....in particular with little support from Republicans. Republican party, of which I am a member...warm spit.

I’d bet the entire balance of my primary retirement accounts that the next president will be less of an asshole…

We’d have to bring in stem cells and genetically engineer our next president if we want a bigger asshole behind the resolute desk… out of 340m people we picked the largest asshole we could find this last time around lol…

The next president could certainly be an asshole… but I think it’s statistically impossible that he’ll be bigger :D

My fear isn’t that the next one will be an asshole… it’s that the next one will be either an idiot or a wet noodle… neither of which would be good for the US, or any of the western world..
Agree with most of your posts mdwest but personally, right now, I want an asshole for president...the bigger the better. And if we can genetically engineer a bigger asshole....go for it.....am tired of seeing America walked all over.....cheers.

I’ll certainly take asshole over wet noodle or brain dead idiot like the last 2 D POTUS were…

If any of the currently leading potentials on the blue side end up in the White House in 2028 we are undoubtedly screwed…

Some European countries willingness to "bargain" with Russia over access to oil and gas to end the war in Ukraine is very disconcerting IMO. As an example, 15-20 years ago, Germany produced MORE natural gas than Russia! Then the climate extremists embedded themselves in German politics to completely eliminate producing that "dirty" natural gas in Germany and buy it from Russia so they could claim a "climate change success". What a joke! Now, they're beholden to a Russian dictator for much of their natural gas energy needs. Putin's "gal pal" Merkle really screwed Germany over their previous self sustaining energy ability IMO. Germany has NOW the estimated FOURTH largest natural gas fields in the WORLD and it just sits there unused. I know, let's continue to rely on Russia and the Middle East for our energy needs and hope for the best. Unbelievable!

No, it's actually much worse than even I thought they could be as the war in Ukraine has progressed. Their military incompetence is absolutely mindboggling.

Does anyone else think there is a significant diplomatic risk with Trump asking so many countries, but particularly China, for help in the Straits of H so publicly? Would this not have been done much better behind closed doors? First it hides the ask, and secondarily at least the predictable declines would not have been so public.

He is supposed to be meeting with Xi to finish some negotiating, and this strikes me as a clear admission of weakness on Trump's part before he heads into those negotiations. Looking weak going into negotiations, particularly with an opponent like China/Xi is not where you want to be.

Isn't Xi sitting in his office thinking, "If he can't handle the Straits of Hormuz against a broken middle power on his own, than how much power can he really exert in the Strait of Taiwan against a real foe"?
The Chinese Navy will not be allowed in the strait or the Persian Gulf.

I don't know who got to Joe Kent, but He probably should have reviewed his posts with respect to Iran over the last few years before pulling a Tucker Carlson. I don't think he will even get his fifteen minutes. There are many other similar posts.
