I am familiar with the bridge, and the lawsuit. The lawsuit is going nowhere.

Weirdly, or perhaps not, Trump endorsed this bridge project in a joint statement with Justin Trudeau a number of years ago.

And, of course, a number of his comments about it are either lies or he doesn't know what he is talking about.

I have the feeling that this offers zero leverage, just more random spouting, like when he said he was immediately going to hit us with more tariffs and never did.

His bizarre statements are starting to seem fearful. Like does he really think that talking about the Chinese threat to hockey is going to change anything? I think he is afraid Canada and other nations will move away from the U.S. sphere. Even with all the tariffs China had its biggest year ever for exports last year by shifting their focus to other markets. The EU just signed a really important deal with India. His actions are hurting the U.S. dollar as a reserve currency and shifting focus away from the United States. He may just realize he is in trouble.

Carney is a national bank guy, a calm long term planner. I don't get that vibe from Trump, he seems to run from starting fire to putting out fire like a headless chicken.

USMCA is being renegotiated this year into two or three bilateral deals. America and Mexico have been working on their deal since last spring. Canadian leadership doesn’t want this to happen and seem to be ignoring the obvious.

The bridge is nothing more than another piece tossed onto the board to negotiate with. It is a bone Trump can throw into the deal costing him nothing.

I don’t necessarily agree this is the way to negotiate with friends but it is typical Trump. He doesn’t really care about my thoughts or anyone else’s.

My wife and I were surprised how much we enjoyed Puerto Rico. Beautiful place, and the people we met were very decent folk we have kept in touch with. Very well kept roads. Food pretty good, too.

It's nice to see he's making efforts to play nice with folks ahead of the midterms...

From what I saw he wasn't protesting but interfering in a arrest.

But I'll also say that he shouldn't of been shot. Trouble is when you bring a firearm to a "protest" you are asking for trouble.

As staunch as I am with the Second Admentent he should of left the firearm at home if he was going to a "peaceful protest"

Surely you aren’t referring to Pretti…

I’d hardly call his actions legal protesting…

There is a stark difference between peacefully protesting and inciting a riot…

The constitution protects the former.. it does not protect the latter…

Not advocating the tragedy of Prettis death…

But the bullshit talking point that what has been happening in Minnesota is a “protest” is just that, bullshit..

Folks should familiarize themselves with the legal definition of a protest…

Throwing rocks, setting things on fire, committing assault on others (to include law enforcement), blocking traffic, refusing people’s access to areas, looting, etc do not constitute a protest.. in fact all of those actions are violations of law…

Most of what happened during “occupy Wall Street” was a legitimate and legal “protest”…

What has been happening in MN.. is not anything at all what “legally protesting” is

He was not legally carrying. He had a permit to carry, he did not have the permit with him, Minnesota requires a CCW license individual to carry the permit.

If any one of us, decided to carry and we were stopped by police for any number of reasons, and did not have our permit, we would be arrested.

Given there are a lot of gun owners that read this forum, we have a responsibility to not spread false information that could get someone arrested (though I am sure most people wouldn't believe something they read on the internet).

Is legally protesting spitting at LEOs and damaging an ICE vehicle and then obstructing ICE with a woman a week later? That’s protesting?

I guess the numbers I would be interested in are the peak numbers watching at the end of the half, versus the peak numbers watching the halftime show, versus the peak numbers in the second half. This would give me a true idea if the alternative halftime show had any real impact. Im sure the numbers exist, I just haven't seen them reported.

And... for the record, I watched the first half, watched the alternative show during halftime, and returned to the superbowl the second half.

Don't know if this is accurate....just happened to see it now....

A person of interest was detained in the Guthrie case, that ended up not being a person of interest. Detained for 8 hours. I would be pissed.

Gavin Newsome, once more, shows why he is unfit to lead.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom issued a sharply worded — and profane — response after Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill announced plans to sue California and New York in an effort to force the states to extradite doctors accused of prescribing abortion pills to patients in Louisiana.

“Louisiana plans to sue me because I won’t extradite a doctor for providing an abortion,” Newsom wrote on X. Directly addressing Murrill, he added: “Go ---- yourself. California will never help you criminalize healthcare.”

Murrill quickly fired back on social media and in comments to USA Today Network, saying, “Bless your heart @GavinNewsom. Killing Louisiana babies isn’t healthcare, nor is shielding California drug dealers. The sovereign State of Louisiana will defend life. See ya soon.”

The exchange marks the latest escalation in a two‑year legal and political battle as red states pursue criminal cases against out‑of‑state doctors prescribing abortion medication through telehealth.

My wife lived there for a few years. She had a wonderful time and was very well treated, but this was some decades ago.
