The main reason your Tundra, and most Toyotas, are made here is that Japan started running out of working age adults in the eighties. So, they opened the Lexington KY plant to make Camrys in 1986. Eventually they’ll move all of their plants making US cars here. Tariffs will just accelerate that. Once Germany comes to grips with their demographic collapse they’ll follow suit.My Toyota Tundra was built in San Antonio Texas, the USA has import tariffs on small trucks and hence why Toyota has so many manufacturing plants in the USA vs Mercedes which only has one plant located outside Germany and hence why they were freaking out over the tariffs.
Likewise the Ford custom transit is the most popular van in the UK and is sold in over 90 markets worldwide.
