I agree with that, my current partner (longest relationship I had, going on 13 years) is the most loving, caring person I have ever been with.

She is also my type, much younger, tall, blonde and athletic.

The type you can buy, I guess. For your sake, I hope she doesn’t see your earlier posts about women.

My wife below. I didn’t buy her.

She is a keeper Scott. As is my wife, who married me 43 years ago when I was a broke college student!

Thank you. And yes, you and your wife are a beautiful couple. We enjoyed our time visiting with you both at SCI about your travels.

Actually, she is aware of my comments and worldview. She used to joke when we hit 7 years, knowing my history, that her expiration date was near as my longest relationship was about 9 years.

We have a great relationship as I mentioned she is the most loving and caring person I have ever been with and my family likes her. I did quit charging her rent some years ago as a result. She is a great companion and a partner.

This pic is from a sailing trip with my daughter and grandkids a few weeks ago.

I also grabbed my trophy wife the first time around. I was a brand new captain who couldn't afford to pay attention much less offer immediate economic security. In a couple of months we will hit 44 years together. Could not imagine hanging out with anyone else.

I have the utmost respect for military wives. My partner’s sister is married to a retired Marine who was deployed multiple times including Somalia “Blackhawk Down”. Not only she had to deal with deployments but also his recovery from wounds and PTSD. Many others would have bailed.

Absolutely. They don't swear the oath, but so much is expected of them. If in a command track, you are considered a "command team" when taking over a battalion, brigade or division. Nancy dealt with more family crises, attended more memorial services, and sat with more grieving spouses than anyone living a "normal" career can imagine. At home, she was the one who held our family together. To provide some perspective, when our daughter was 17 we were experiencing our 14th PCS move and she her third high school.

And it has long roots going far back. "Subalterns cannot marry, captains can marry, majors should, and colonels must" has been a British army tradition going back centuries.

Military wives bear a heavy load. My sister in law has stayed home through multiple deployments. I can’t imagine how her husband could manage the deployments if she were not so capable.

On the corporate side, it’s unofficial, but when you’re moving into the C Suite, your wife is evaluated as well. Wives play a crucial role in corporate life. I actually saw one individual’s career suffer because no one could stand to be around his wife. It’s not ever mentioned, but it is there.

I don't honestly know a lot about Representative Massie, beyond headlines. But this kind of s**t from our President is embarrassing, IMHO. I sure wouldn't tolerate talk like this from one of my third graders (back when I was still in my classroom) or from one of my kids. It's appalling. I don't know about chivalry being dead, but decorum certainly is at the top level.

The current mindset in the young 20's - 30's is changed. I have a nephew who is 30 years old. He is very disenchanted with the current dating scene and I can't blame him. A lot of it is driven by social media. Women (young women) now seem to want money, wealth, or at least...perceived wealth.

I met my wife when I lived in an apartment, was an associate advisor to my now employee (pseudo business partner) and didn't have much to speak of in terms of wealth. She is my rock, in many ways. We have 2 children together and I am very blessed.

Unfortunately, the world and society has devolved since we were in the dating scene.

Mmmm......here we go again.....

sadly, not a surprise in any way..

I dont think anyone believed Iran would give up pursuit of nukes.. as long as the current regime is still in power, they will continue down the same path they have been on since 1979... its worked great for them... why change?

we (the western world) really have one of two choices to make.. .

Commitment to full scale war to include ground forces, that topple the regime, cripples their military permanently, and then occupation until a new government is in place that we believe is more in line with western values.. (which we all know isnt going to happen, and isnt what any major western power is really interested in doing)...

or...

About once every 10 years hammer the shit out of them (take out nuke facilities, take out key nuclear personnel, crush their economy, force them to re-invest, re-build, etc..etc.)... knowing youre going to have to do it again 10 years later.. and be committed to doing that for as long as it takes for the Iranian people to figure out a way to topple the regime themselves (assuming thats something they actually want to do)..

Im not a particular fan of Massie.. but Trump has made his feud personal rather than sticking to political facts..

Massie has historically voted along R party lines 83% of the time.. His current record is 70% (largely because he disagrees with Trump and several of his colleagues on issues related to Ukraine, various foreign aid bills, etc..

But that record is still SIGNIFICANTLY higher than several other "R" representatives and senators..

Youd think Trump would be targeting the likes of Murkowski (former R), Collins (far and away the most "liberal" voter in the R party that votes contrary to party lines more often than anyone else).. etc etc...

I think if we distill down all these phenomenons, the real issue at the core is feminism has created an ever growing divide between men and women in the younger age demographics.

Men always have been judged by their pasts. This is an important lag indicator of trajectory. Men in the courting age demographic had to live a pristine life as far as decision making goes because their good decision making compounds, ultimately creating a man of means that is "desirable".

Women used to be very judgmental related to one another on "their pasts" because they knew you can never unring the bell. Women of the marrying age have mismanaged their life choices and are expecting that men must leave it in the past. That could be promiscuity, horrible student loan decisions, terrible career choices, porn and adult content, saying really horrific things on social media, inappropriate attire/photos, piercings, tattoos, and illegitimate children.

This creates the epicenter of the crisis because men are only suitable when they have made excellent decisions that increase their sexual marketplace value: career, good job, business network, participation in church/temple/civics, eradication of debt, work ethic, prudent use of student loans, etc.

The supermajority of women will wisely judge single men by their past as it informs their future, whereas women do not expect there to be equal consequences for bad historic decision making and a value judgment in their direction.

I am so happy my generation did not have these problems and I'm nearing 20 years of marital bliss. I'm deeply concerned about what I'm seeing in the younger generations and what that means for society.

you might want to do a little research... assigning homework to others when you clearly havent done any yourself is a bit ridiculous dont you think?

Murkowski may call herself a Republican.. that doesnt mean she actually is one any longer..

She doesnt caucus with the Republican party, the Republican party does not endorse her any longer, and as recently as 3 weeks ago she went public stating she was giving consideration to caucusing with the Democrats from now on..

During the Obama Administration she voted with D's 72% of the time..

During the Biden Administration she voted with D's 67% of the time.

Only Collins has voted left more often than Murkowski of all currently serving people that call themselves R's..

Even more interesting about Murkowski than her declaring herself a Republican when it is very clear that she much more often supports Democrat legislation actions is just what a total waste of breath of a Senator she actually has been...

Shes been in office since 2003.. in 22 years she has introduced legislation exactly ZERO times that has been passed into law..

It amazes me that AK continues to put her into office.. she literally has accomplished next to nothing in 22 years other than getting on TV to run her suck a couple of times a year about how much she hates whatever initiative the R party is taking..
yeah, murkowski is an embarrassment for the GOP. the ranked choice voting has helped her. she is a democrat mostly, am obviously not a fan. her daddy did her a big favor appointing her and now it has been terrible trying to get her out of office.
