Congress working on an aid bill for Israel.

Biden said he will veto it if it doesnt include money for Ukraine
I doubt this bill will get out of the Senate, if it even passes the House, some of the senators on the republican side and probably all of the democrats want a “comprehensive” bill covering Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan and the border.

Problem is that for each one they kill another ten become radicalized. All their children learn is to hate Israel and Jews.
So, placate or eradicate?

When will we reach DEFCON 2.…?
We won't. Not unless and until Russia or China triggers a nuclear readiness indication and warning by preparing for an attack against the homeland. Iran, much less its proxies, does not represent a significant threat to the continental US.

Very true. And it’s been that way since forever. Now, this unprecedented slaughter of Israeli civilians. What is Israel to do? Hamas has vowed many times to destroy Israel. Two state solution? I don’t know? I’m sure Hamas/Hezbollah/Iran would STILL try and destroy Israel?

Yet?

Despite Hamas being so inhumane
Precisely. Don’t get it wrong, these lefty liberals have no high standard of decency, they are just anti. They are angry and lost in big part by the contradiction in their stance. There is more and more said about them feeling ‘being without purpose’. True that. Right and wrong are indeed absolutes, frequently uncomfortable to their group, but trying to bend them makes a mockery of the bender, and bends their minds instead.

The maps and situation reminds me of some historic battles and sieges.

One is Battle of Leningrad, totally encircled city. No corridors for refugees. lasted 872 days. 1.5 million dead.
The supplies or refugee corridor was only established during winter months over a frozen lake.

second siege in history, to be reminded was the siege of Sarajevo. Lasted 1472 days. Over 5.000 civilian casualties.
Totally sounded by Serbian forces, and no safety corridor for refugees and supply.
Defenders of the city at later stage managed to dig a tunnel (now available for tourists, as memorial center), under Sarajevo international airport, which by the end of siege helped moving wounded, elderly, children, families and supplies in and out.

Both sieges failed, and resulted in massive civilian casualties.

Bottom line, Israelis will not have an easy task, battle will be fought on battle grounds and international political scene. And I don't know which one will be more difficult.

I see one of Ukraine’s generals says the war is at a stalemate. It really looks to be like a perpetual meat grinder on both sides and Russia has more meat. So what now?
It is obvious, but probably worth reiterating that the just ended summer fighting season saw Ukraine hamstrung by the West’s indecision and the late arrival of supplies that could have made a difference.
Time for peace?

That's why the "Bombing of Dresden" would be a better example to follow. However, politically that is impossible to do.

Become radicalized? Seems like majority of pop already is and has been for a long time. That is why their cousins and no other country in the area has ever wanted them. What gives OBrandonama, et al the right to dictate terms to Israel on how to deal with them after Oct 7? Given the large urban areas in Gaza this will be tough for IDF. Just like certain extended wars the US has been in since about 1965- who is the enemy and who is an "innocent civilian"? More recently reminds of Marawi 2017 but this is much worse and larger scale. Population of Marawi were not so sympathetic to a relatively small number of ISIS and Al Qaeda converts who had taken up residence there. Had to turn major portions of Marawi to rubble to get rid of them. Took 5 months to do it.

How much of a difference will the F-16’s make?

How much of a difference will the F-16’s make?

That’s largely going to depend on what munitions are provided and how many munitions are provided I think..

The F16 is an all weather multi-role aircraft… it can be highly effective as a bomber, close air support aircraft, and a fighter… and it can fly in some really rough weather…

But each role requires different configurations and different armament…

So when it can fly, what it does when it flies, and how good it is when it flies can vary a lot depending on circumstances

I was being facetious.

Looks like they are going to envelope and flank Gaza City from three sides?

If I was Israel, I'd sterilize, create a border crossing, vet every citizen of Gaza coming back to that side, provide them aid, and then focus on the lower half of Gaza next.

Let Hamas preside over a dung heap near the Sinai out of rocket range of Tel Aviv moving forward.
