Seems to be the chinese that are driving up the prices by selling of their US treasuries/goverment bonds and buying gold and silver for the proceeds

I’ve seen those articles too and quite plausible, however some refineries are paying considerably under market for pure silver and some are not even taking alloy.

I think some of the major investors(London & NYC)are sitting on shorts(paper silver) their hoping the price will drop before they have to pay off, unfortunately for them demand made price skyrocket and then China came along and started buying…. So who knows where it will level off at.

Silver currently $103 Gold$4,987 for a ratio of 48:1

Back in 1979(I believe) the ratio got as low as 17:1

Damn my uncle Henry has 200lbs of silver and 100lbs of gold in a safe , I told him he should sell 1/3 of his metals and diversify it! Maybe it’s time? ( he is 84 in march )
His two daughters are going to be ecstatic when they find that in the future if he doesn’t spend it ( lol)

Gold will keep climbing IMO. My estimate is 5k/oz by end of March. If nothing radical to surrounding conditions changes, I can see 6k by end of 2026. Probably lots of fluctuation and turmoil in the middle.

If you run numbers on total global money (M2 or M3 or whatever term you call it) and include the known debt as additive you end up with something near $300 trillion. Silly numbers. Monopoly money.
Then look up estimates for known gold mass on the earths crust in oz. Then divide.

The exercise points out that if all fiat was converted to a gold standard, gold would be repriced at something approaching $18k/oz depending on your sources.

I don't see it likely anyone will approach total conversion but the great awakening of people in terms of financial basics is having an effect. The debt ain't helping. Lots of countries are still buying gold for their central bank and if i'm not mistaken, gold has now become THE primary asset on central bank sheets just recently.

Physical is great if you bought with cash. you can also hold it in ira's and avoid capital gains taxes should you choose.
But I've been heavy on miners and leveraged etf's and some options therein since about $1600/oz 3-4 novembers ago.

Brent crude is low, venezuela and iran are at risk, opec has been cutting output. Diesel is the prime cost of miners. Gold is climbing which is their main revenue so costs are down, prices are way up. Pretty easy math.

The EU is, in my opinion, being pressured by Trump and Besset in a financial sense. I think we'll see Japan take the direction from the US to start raising their rates (which will push a lot of people out of the YEN carry trade.) Meanwhile, Trump and Besset are working on twisting arms at the FED and I suspect they're trying to reduce our rate to around 2 or 3% to kickstart middle class home buying again in time for the mid terms.

EU central banks will feel this. It could result in significant capital exits from EU.

Gold is a good thing to be sitting on for awhile.

If he doesn't need it, the smart thing is to keep it intact and leave to heirs. Their cost basis begins upon his death. I would hate to imagine some of his capital gains were he to try and sell.

Or sell to heirs for cost

You do know Vance wife is hindu and that = pagan???
Of course I know she is of Hindu culture. It is also general knowledge that she and her husband have an interfaith marriage and are raising their children as Christians. I simply find you a Cretan for thinking it is somehow of interest to anyone here that you would want to somehow try to exploit her or her culture.

That’s a bold statement for a Baha’i follower to swallow, you sound kinda ignorant on the dogmatic aspect of religions .
Christianity =Practices such as venerating saints (similar to honoring deities), using icons, lighting candles, and specific liturgical structures are seen by critics as repurposed pagan customs

This kind of stuff is a stupid argument and seems very out of place for most people I know, cretinous is correct

So let me get this right.

JD Vance. Is saying dont turn to paganism....
Yet is married to a pagan and hes ok with her being a pagan..

And im somehow the ignorant baddy/cretin for pointing out that is kinda duplicitous.

WOW...... the virtue signalling is strong with yall.

When Trump spews absolute nonsense like this with respect to the sacrifice NATO troops made in Afghanistan it makes me sick to my stomach. This isn't clever trolling - it is ignorant disrespect. Nearly 500 British troops were killed and more than 2000 were wounded supposedly hiding "behind the front lines." British KIA represented almost 5% of their deployed forces while the approximately 2300 US KIA represented 2.3% of US deployed strength. In other words, deployed British forces were roughly 12% more likely to be KIA than their American counterparts. Trump shames everyone who served there with this ugly sort of stupidity.

Already getting some pushback from allies. I wonder if his supporters think of his comments as more trolling?

I’m glad we have a rule around the camp fire & dinner table, no speak of, religion, politics, butt stories, talk about others wives or girlfriends, child , it’s just so verboten it makes people feel lesser about their fellow hunters and friends / family and respect and respectability seems to fly out the window!

Be careful of hunting Chewore South, the area has been decimated.....

Curious about this. I hunted Chewore South with D&Y in September and they did tell me it was there last hunt there.

Which outfits shot it out?
Impala cull hunt for camp meat!
