on a lighter note...

I don’t know about horses… but I smacked a few donkeys on the head with one of those back in the day :)

I preferred the round “donkey dick” style over the flat sap / blackjack, but used both at different times..

I still keep the donkey dick on the credenza behind my desk.. it was my grandfathers before it was mine..

Accomplish the same thing with a sock and a bar of soap. Just not as classy. Learned that in the service. Something to do with blanket parties.
Never make the mistake of thinking you can replace the soap with the D cell batteries from your angle head flashlight…

Seems they do a whole lot more unintended damage than a bar of Irish spring… and NCOs get really pissed when their privates get broken ribs and broken teeth as part of the barracks remedial training program..

Just sayin…

:)

Never wanted to damage the guy just send a message. When you break your squad members you get to stand thier watches. D cells would definitely suck on the receiving end but good info.

It was in vain that I scolded my daughter for the nose ring; it turned out to be much more convenient to get her up to school in the morning.

We did a blanket party on an idiot in our flight during Basic Training, and used the soap in the socks. This idiot kept getting us in deep sh*t with the TI, and when had enough of his stupidity, we took matters into our own hands. Eventually he got washed back two weeks and was removed from our flight. This was in 1983, I’m sure it would be a bit different now.

The D cell incident referenced happened in my BT class, but a different platoon…

Those idiots wrecked another private… the private got rolled back until he healed (no clue what happened to him after that).. and the guys that threw the party all got bad conduct discharges before they ever completed basic (at least that’s what we were told… we never saw them again either)…

I’m not sure what happened to the drills.. we were barely into “white” phase of training, so we weren’t privy to that sort of information.. but my understanding was the platoon level drills and the company senior drill also got their dicks put in the proverbial vise over it…

And this was all when the army was a lot more “physical” than it’s allowed to be now..

I had a drill throttle me and throw me against a wall locker… had another gut punch me (not all that hard… but enough to certainly get my attention..)… and.. that was pretty routine/average behavior… not really a big deal… fuck up or act like an ass… suffer the consequences… per late 80’s standards I deserved the punishment I received both times…

But private breaking other privates… that was absolutely not tolerated…

Hell.. just 2 privates fighting in the barracks wasn’t tolerated… we had a couple of fights break out in my platoon… the hour in the pt pit that followed each time (for all of us) squashed that behavior quickly…

Yup. The days of the old brown boot army are long gone.

Hello,

I saw your post selling left hand rifles. Do you have any additional pics of the .416 Rem mag?

Thank you.
