Saw it as low as 9 cents during a gas war between two stations a block apart.I'm really old. I remember sixteen cents and you got a free drinking glass.

1952 Chev Deluxe ... the year I was born. My first car was a '53 Bel Air. Similar grille, fender, and hood. They dropped the "fastback" cabin that year.I'm really old. I remember sixteen cents and you got a free drinking glass.

I had a wealthy uncle who would slip $5 to me and my brother back in the '50s. Probably a $50 dollar bill today. Now I'm doing it with my grandkids.
Sadly, I remember gas wars when it went to 19 cents a gallon. We bought our gas from a station where the guy pumped a handle that filled the glass container at the top of the pump, then gravity pulled it down into your tank. He even cleaned your wind shield, and if the lady in the front seat was wearing shorts, he never left a single spot or bug.I'm really old. I remember sixteen cents and you got a free drinking glass.
