on a lighter note...

Hmmm...rolling up on 400,000 miles between my last 2 ford trucks. the current one is 11 years old, still isn't even leaking. last one (F250) started leaking at about 250K miles and was 12 or 13 years old.

yeah, that's 2 Ford trucks I've owned for nearly 25 years. Can't say I know any GM or Dodge owners who can say the same.

Yeah, besides my personal 2017 F350 Crewcab longbox, our work fleet consists of older Fords - 1995, 1999, 2000 and a 2016 that are all still pulling horse and ATV trailers and hauling people. Crewcab Fords also have a much larger backseat that’s actually comfortable. GM and Dodge have small backseats unless you get a Dodge megacab but then you can’t get a longbox.

I can. I've been driving Dodge Cummins diesels since 1991.

My 05 did until I built a flatbed for it.

Whatever you do don’t buy a 2018 F150. My company truck burns 1.25-1.5 quarts per thousand miles. It’s done that since I got it at 60k miles. I should actually say it used to.. Needs a new motor now at 125k miles. It’s had a rough life but still…

We've got a '90 Chevy 3/4 ton truck that my old man drove 450k over 22 years as a daily driver. Replaced the motor at 350k or so. "Retired" it to a farm truck a decade ago and we still use it. Thats 1 Chevrolet truck over 33+ years...

You can find examples of longevity for every brand if u want.

I'd also argue the point of comfortable and roomy back seats. My 2018 Silverado crew cab is quite spacious and nice riding. Available in short box or standard box. The HD version I believe has a long bed option. ... modern trucks are about the same as a luxury SUV, just with a bed instead of 3rd row.

I have had a good run with the fords I have had but in line with the theme of previous posts...

My dad bought a 1965 3/4 ton GMC in the fall of 1964. I was five years old. It had the 305 Big Six engine and 4 on the floor transmission (w/ granny low). No AC or radio. I drove it some as a teenager and my dad had it a total of 20-25 years. During hunting season, we had a cabover camper and we'd tow a CJ-7 Jeep. The truck just ran! It even had a manual choke.

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
