This old girl was in rough shape when we were asked to put her down to mount her. She was about 18 or so they told us. She’s all ready for prom now! We mount a dozen or more longhorn a year for folks. So much so I’ve started accumulating spare capes as we have requests for them all the time.

Nice!! I wouldn't have thought there was a lot of demand for such things, it is sweet looking though. Thanks for sharing!

That is wonderful! It does make me want to go get a saw. Gig-em(y)

Ya it’s funny, I wouldn’t have either. The last several years I’ve started a service to where we will come to location, humanely put down the animal ( clients rarely have humane means to do that efficiently), skin the animal, and take it back to the studio. We do this about 12+ times a year.
The demand for longhorns has been such that I have sold all my beef cattle and bought a small herd of pure longhorns. It’s been a win win, clients love interacting with them at the ranch. I have calves every year and when the time comes that certain members of the herd hit the end of their lives I can mount them and sell the mounts.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.

Hi EGS

I read your thread with interest. Would you mind sending me that PDF? May I put it on my website?
