This is what the wording will be on the petition:
"The hunting community wants to thank & support the effort that has been made by the Travelodge in Saskatoon, Sask, and Borgata Wedding Events, Toronto, ON to host Africa Hunting Events Expo. We applaud this choice which promotes conservation through managed hunting in Africa.
There are those who would have you believe that hunting is a cruel and inhumane act. One's emotion is fooled into believing that this is the correct action which is a mistake. Events that the anti hunting community would have you believe happen frequently couldn't be further from the truth. If the anti hunting community truly cared for what they consider is 'conservation" they would take the time to research the facts and educate themselves instead of using hunting to further their own selfish and egotistical gain. For the most part older animals that are at the end of their breeding prime are usually taken. This allows "new blood" to enter the gene pool. Banning hunting affects thousands of people from the tribes and villages that benefit form the harvest, to professional hunters, local economies and tourism dollars, booking agents and finally the hunters themselves. What a thrill it would be to go on a once in a life time adventure to see "The Dark Continent".
Hunting is necessary for inhibiting "overpopulation" through conservation. Human population growth has resulted in more man/animal encounters in Africa with the end result of the animal generally coming out on the short end of the stick. Dwindling ranges cause animals to venture on to farms and quite often attack livestock. The only way to address the issue from a constructive point of view is working with landowners to initiate and implement better conservation practices.
The anti hunting groups will argue otherwise but study after study has found that hunting is a key component of conservation no matter the what continent it takes place on.
We believe in ethical hunting practices. Those who practice otherwise should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. It doesn't benefit anyone to allow these types of individuals to escape with a "slap on the wrist"
We look forward to continued future support from the Travelodge Saskatoon Hotel, and Borgata Wedding Events."
I'm forwarding it to the same individuals the original poster sent their petition to.
Any thoughts?
