ADVICE: There will be so much offered that it can (and likely will) feel overwhelming. Expect that, embrace it even. The good news is that is is (almost) all advice is offered by folks trying to help you and the family maximize the enjoyment of that First Safari. We are all a bit Jealous because you only get one First!
That said, if you take your time, do your research, talk to a lot of folks, PHs, Outfitters, References etc you are VERY unlikely to not have a great experience. The bad experiences almost exclusively come from folks who don't do their homework, or have expectations that do not line up with what is realistic. The wrong kind of surprises for example.
Take it all in, look at a ton of pictures, read all you can, here especially. Get a copy of The Perfect Shot, (that's practically mandatory). As you learn, some of your initial worry will fade, and other questions will come up. Keep at it, you'll enjoy the whole experience, even the research and planning.
Oh, and welcome!
