I’ve been bitten by the tacticool lever action bug.

Picked up a Rossi R95 Triple Black in .30-30. It’s not full on red neck with mlok and Magpul, kind of a blend of modern and classic. I have a couple R92’s, older ones, they take a little work but they smooth out nicely. This new R95 is a shameless copy of a Marlin 336, and it’s slick! Fit and finish is great and the trigger is superb. They have really up’d their game, the Ruger/Marlin doesn’t have anything on it from what I can see except for a higher price tag. Hope to get out and fire it soon, I got a fixed 2.75 Burris scout scope to go on the factory pic rail. It’s threaded for accessories on the muzzle, I can’t think of a sweeter NA woods rig than a compact, suppressed 30-30 lever.

With suppressor. Balances nicely. Still need to shoot it.

Feeds slick. Every screw on the rifle was loose from the factory including the rail mount. Every one. It was making me crazy trying to sight it in. After tightening all the fasteners it shot a 5 round group with Federal Blue Box 170gr into 1.25” at 100 yards. Not bad at all. It likes to be held like a rifle, it doesn’t like being fired off the bench just on bags with no hand on the forearm. It’s been awhile since I’ve messed with lever guns, it’s starting to come back to me. Oh yes, it barks pretty good with the suppressor off. No recoil to speak of but a bit of an obnoxious muzzle blast. Whatever they used for finish on the steel isn’t going to wear well…maybe Cerakote, not sure.

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
