Hunting reports

I've been lurking around here for quite a while now. Finally joined and just wanted to say hey. Been fascinated with African all of my life. Dad used to get us some of the old books to read when we were growing up. My favorite is still an early copy of Hunter by JA Hunter. Its falling apart from being read so much by myself and my brothers. Just recently had an old military 98 mauser rebored to 9.3x62, and I love that old gun. Both brothers have had 375 H&H's, so I wanted to be a little different. I'll most likely never get to go to Africa, but I love reading all the post on here from you folks!

Glad you jumped to the posting side.

Welcome!
My wife is from Alabama and Mississippi and has relatives scattered about the Jackson area. What part of the states are you in?

Far northeast corner on the Alabama line.

Welcome aboard!

Then you would know where Iuka, MS is.
After MSCW and Old Miss, she moved to Dallas where we met at Precision Motors (we both drove Sunbeam Alpines).

I sure do I'm from Belmont about 20 miles south of Iuka. Small world lol

Welcome aboard Mississippi!

I lived in Amory for a spell. Both my kids were born in MS, one in Amory and one in Tupelo. I loved the people in Mississippi. Great place!

If you want to get to Africa, you can make it.

Yes, it takes time, planning and discipline. But $50 a month saved/squirreled away will get you there on a basic plains game hunt in about 10 years time, give or take.

$50 a month is $1.67 per day. Can you find it?

Of course, I did not go on my first trip until I was 57 years old. I had kids to raise and put through school, the whole 9 yards!

But don't give up on the dream. All in good time...

I was born at the amory hospital myself. I live in mooreville now maybe 20-25 miles north of amory

Yup...small world!

I can still see my wife leaning against the car in the parking lot at the Amory hospital...we were headed in but she had a contraction when she got out of the car and it stopped her dead in her tracks! :)

Hello! I saw your post from last year about a missing crate from your hunt in Moz. I am curious how that all turned out? We (my fiancé and I) also hunted in Moz in 2024 and the trophies are being shipped with Hunters Services Limitada. We have some concerns on whether we will get the trophies home or not. May I ask who you hunted with?
