Hi all!
I'm originally from Virginia but have been out in AZ for 18 years and can now spend a summer or two with a vintage car that has no AC... so I guess I'm Arizonan now! I've been mostly heading to Virginia for big game (deer) since the lottery out here makes it hard win a ticket for a hunt. I've supplemented that with a lot of upland hunting in AZ: gambels quail mostly, some dove and rabbit when the season/weather is right. Just picked up fly fishing after a trip to Sun Valley, Idaho. I'm here to learn a bit about the dark continent, snag a few deals on optics and maybe a rifle to satisfy the need to fill the gun safe.

A Safari would be a bucket list item so I have to wonder if AZ summers are good prep for Africa!

:S Welcome:

Welcome from the east valley! What part of town are you In?

Gambels, Scaled quail, two kinds of doves and band tailed pigeons. Mearns quail are my favorite gamebird! Turkeys and grouse in the high mountains. You haven’t scratched the surface and trust me on this-Arizona is world class for all those species. Glad you found this site, a great place to dream and find influencers

Welcome to AH, you are in a great place to find all things necessary to hunt Africa. Many people here who can help with your search for rifles, optics, hunts, and information. Enjoy.

East-ish, between the tempe and mesa border. It's not a bad neighborhood! Easy access to 87 to get to the desert.

Well if you shoot out at Rio Salado, we'll have to meet up there sometime.

Good day! Welcome to AH!

Welcome aboard!

I do! when I want to smack the 200 and 3/400 yard plates or do a little skeet/4 stand/shotgunning then I head to rio. they have a great clay bird course. I'll give you a holler next weekend I plan to head out there.
I’ve always wondered how Rio was. Glad to know they have a good clays course!

You know I've got this new to me Winchester 101 O/U I need to get broken into. Perhaps before the hell of summer sets in, you, @Foxfyre and I should give it a go. I've been a member at Rio Salado for a long time, but have never tried out that course. Not even sure how it all works.

The system out there isn't too bad and I'll be happy to get a few clays under the belt before summer hits. I should even have my new Iside Prestige Tartaruga 20ga by then. 'Should'. Hopefully it ships soon!

Ya I’ve got a new to me Ugartechea 28ga SxS that needs a few clays under its belt. Maybe three of us should figure out a day to go bust some clays.

@Foxfyre welcome! You are about 2-3 hours drive away from some incredible mountain lion hunting. Several AH members have hunted with Logan Adams and Seven Anchor Outfitters. I did a hunt with them about two months ago and it was one of the most fun and interesting hunt I’ve ever done.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
