Got my first bike in 1963, owned at least one continuously till my 80th birthday. My last one was an MV Agusta. There were many I regret selling. When I was young, I would set out for the weekend on a Matchless G80 with an extra master link, pair of pliers, screwdriver and a roll of “go fast tape” never me down.

Don’t know if I’ve posted this on here before or not, but I love Triumphs and the classic nostalgia. I have a problem with going too fast though, so the new 400 line allows me to have fun on a light bike that is quick to handle in the curves and fun to ride but is hard to get crazy on. Still does 90mph which you can’t legally do anywhere. Despite what some may say, it’s a blast to ride.

I sold my BMW R1200 GSA and without a motorcycle for the first time in almost 50 years.

I still think about getting a used GS F800 for tooling around on the weekends, but I can’t bring myself to part with the money when I have so many other interests needing attention.

To those that can, keep the rubber side down and stay safe out there.

Sadly, i was hit in an intersection on the ZX-10 a week ago. So it's in the shop awaiting parts.

My first motorcycle was a used 2001 Kawasaki ZR-7s I bought in 2013 at 43 years old. After that I had a 2104 Triumph Tiger 1200 adventure bike, a 2011 Kawasaki Concours 14, and a 1995 Harley Davidson Wide Glide. I enjoyed it for a short time and retired from riding after about six years. It was never a lifestyle for me, just a phase. But I'm glad I learned to ride because it helped me become a better car driver.

Please excuse the bad picture. Here is my dad I think sometime between 1959-1961 not 100% sure. Ironically, he was killed in a vehicle accident, not on a motorcycle. When I told my mom I was thinking of getting a motorcycle, she said to me "I brought you to this world, I will send you back" and she was serious. I never got a motorcycle.

Does anyone know what motorcycle this is?

Based on the logo on the gas tank & the chrome bar around the back of the seat, my guess would be a circa-1946 Indian Chief. But a real expert might come along & provide a more exact identification since I'm not an Indian guru. Great photo though!

Because of @Albert GRANT's post from a couple of weeks ago, I found myself in a dealership yesterday sitting on top of a Triumph 400 Scrambler XC making vroom-vroom sounds. I was out on my BMW R1200 GS in the Flatside Wilderness Area of central Arkansas last week enjoying myself. But I was also thinking it would be a hoot to have something smaller & lighter to play on. I absolutely loved my little 1980 Yamaha 400 XS Special that got me through college at LSU. The current Triumph lineup has a bunch of classic-looking bikes from my youth that appeal!

Got my first bike at 14, Honda Hawk400. Had lots of bikes over the years. At 60 I decided that chapter was over and sold my bike this spring. This had been my dream bike, it could do it all. BMW K1600GT.

Here's my bike: 2003 HD V-Rod. I really like it. Had a close enounter with a deer and got ripped to shreds and scratched the paint. I repainted it myself. It's 2010 Dodge Viper Blue metallic (with extra metal flake) and Wimbleton White....basically our LeMans colors. Have done 133mph with it on the road and run the 1/4 at 127 several times. Not bad for a cruiser. Tried to post a movie of one of my 1/4 mile runs but it wouldn't let me. I had a KLR 650 dual sport before this and wish I'd kept it. Had a Goldwing before that, as my first street bike (bought it off my grandpa). Had a few Kawi dirt bikes as a kid. I like them all. A leather and chains guy once told me that I'm not a "Biker" but instead a "Motorcyclist." I'll take that

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I posted on here, but I just traded my V-Rod in that I've had for 17 years. She was a good one, but I think I've upgraded here: Triumph Rocket 3 GT. It's a beast! 2458cc, 165 hp, and believe it or not, the thing actually handles better than the old bike. I've only got about 70 miles on it so far (had 870 on the clock when I bought it for about half the price of new....) but I'm really liking it so far. Best way I can describe it as like a big block '69 Camaro....the thing handles way better than it has any right to, isn't as heavy as you'd think, and the torque is about endless. Now if my Enfield .460 would just get done....

There was one of these on the showroom floor yesterday but since it was over 6x bigger than the little 400's I was looking at, I didn't even sit on it (even though the salesman prodded me to give it a try ).

A beast does adequately describe it!
