hi all, looking for advice on the above rifle I have a chance to purchase nd wonder if anyone has thoughts on the rifle since the company is out of business and I have no knowledge of them. the gun is priced at 1100.00 and looks like new not a scratch or blemish on the metal with a clean looking bore, stock looks great and no handling marks or scratches does not appear to have been fired much at all. I am concerned about if something breaks about parts. thanks

I have one in another chambering. I’ve been pleased with it. No issues with it. Most loads are inch or smaller. I was going to buy an other when they went belly up.

I have 1 in 404J, have only put a handful or rounds downrange with it. Trigger and action are like butter.

Does it have a nice walnut stock? You best buy that quickly;)

I'm heading over to the gun sales web sites now to look for it :)

Can you check out the rifle first and shoot it? I do recall others having some issues with the MRCs.

@Hyde Hunter
It's a 35 Whelen, one of the grandest medium bores for everything from mouse to American bison and the big bruins as well as ALL African PG.
BUY IT.
Bob

I have no complaints about my MRC rilfe.

My .416 Rigby is a tack driver and the action is smooth. Try and find out when it was built, I understand a few of the last rifles weren’t put together as well as the earlier rifles.

well just called on it as I was going to go ahead due to the good reply's I got here but it is gone I wonder if Action Bob found the listing and grabbed it? haha

That’s a shame, I keep chasing the elusive 35whelen bolt action and think I will just
buy a SS single shot CVA

@S-3 Ranch
My mate Greg had on of those and has regretted selling it. It was a talkative and had a 25 inch barrel.
He was a silly Vegemite selling it.

I have the CVA, I like it. Ive put a few hundred rounds through it the last couple of months, very accurate rifle. Its amazing how compact a single shot is even with a 25 inch barrel. And its a take down model, very easy to travel with. All that being said I have a Winchester Model 70, in .270 being re-barreled to .35 Whelen right now.
