Model 70 Stainless Classic in 375 h&h

I'm sure he does, his machine capabilities are endless, perhaps the best in the world with his knowledge combined.
Awesome, after I get my next barreled action finished and ready to be fitted I’ll reach out to him to send him my blank for inletting

You won't be disappointed! Tell him Charlie Barnes and the others sent ya!
Will do! Thanks to you I’ve been playing phone tag with Taylor at defiance about that CRF Deviant in rigby bolt face (just bad timing on both our parts) at this rate you’re gonna be the one to help me get and decide on every part on this build

Yes please send me his information, I believe I've spoke with him a few years ago, did he work for Wild West guns at one time? I go to Alaska quite often also.

Hi again Charlie,

I sent Andy Hawk’s contact info to you via the forum private message feature.
If at some point in years past, Andy had worked for Wild West Guns here in Anchorage, I am not aware of it.
It is possible though.

Anyway, hopefully you two can strike a deal.
And when in Anchorage, if you ever have a little time to kill, give me a shout and perhaps we can get a coffee or lunch, whatever.
No pressure, only if you have time while passing through Anchorage some year.

Cheers for now,
Paul.

It'll be my pleasure! Glad to help a fellow rifleman literally lol!

Wow. Thats alot of model 70s. I was fortunate enough to find one here in Alaska from a retired guide friend of mine and purchased it a couple years ago. It’s going on my first brown bear hunt in a couple days here. Post build pictures. I plan on having mine set in a new stock and a little work done to it eventually.

I’ve seen one in a s gun shop near me. .375 H&H mod 70 stainless with a break on. Just trying to remember the name of the shop

I do believe Charlie is in Alaska right now working for a PH there, probably trying to sell a custom rifle to every client and guide he meets, or buy any Winchester M70 Classic Stainless .375 H&H rifle he comes across.
It will be interesting to see how his collection goes, with custom conversions.

I got mine at the grand opening of first-ever Alaska Walmart in Anchorage,
back when they were priced in hundreds of dollars instead of thousands.
It is still the most accurate rifle I have ever shot,
even after I reamed it to .375 WBY MAG to make it less attractive to thieves.
Charlie's collection is not an unwise one to have.

Not a bad collection to have at all I agree. I man waiting on weather and on a bear hunt with mine in Alaska as well.

I just ordered a McMillan supergrade at magnum weight for my stainless classic 375h&h. Just waiting on the stock to be done now

Did you need the factory stock for anything?

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
