thinking about a mangement elephant hunt in Zim for 2025 and have been talking to C.K. Hunting Safaris located in the East Cape Port Elizabeth. 1100.00 daily rate, 75.00 park ranger per day, 9500.00 trophy fee, close to Hwange National Park. I have never heard of this company so was hoping someone here has any info, good or bad thanks

Just for consideration many times a Management elephant hunt is non exportable always depending on where you hunt. Your quoted price of $20k would get you a tophy exportable bull in Zim

My bad… you are hunting in Zim. I have a trophy bull hunt in Zim for $15k, a deal just posted for $13k. You will be paying $20k. The bulls will be from 20 to 40 pounds

If you hunted with them before in south Africa I could understand booking again, but I would never book a first hunt in Zimbabwe through a South African outfitter except in very few cases. They will be contracting a Zimbabwe PH to conduct your hunt. There are a lot of Zimbabwe outfitters and PHs to choose from including offers posted here. Licensed PHs and outfitters in the country you want to hunt know it best.

That's a high price for a management bull. Also, as stated above, usually in Zim a mgmt bull is non exportable

no I never had, we just started talking about East Cape and he mentioned the Zim hunt will require a lot of info first and it does seem high priced with some deals I have seen here, I do not care about exporting elephant as I would probably be dead by the time the ivory cleared, I am 70 now so my wife would probably cut it up for pistol grips haha

It’s really not that high priced depending on the area and PH. The lowest priced offers here have nothing but elephants left in area and hunting in fields and between villages. One of the lowest priced PHs has some negative reviews if you look into references. Areas that are more remote or have core areas established with no villages and have plains game command a higher daily rate. Also better/more well known PHs can charge a higher daily rate. I’d ask a lot of questions on the lowest priced Elephant hunts in Zimbabwe depending on the PH. There are some very good offers though. Overall, I’d feel much more comfortable with an own use elephant in Caprivi in Namibia without asking so many questions. They are around $800-$1000 per day and $8000-$10000 trophy fee depending on outfitter.

Most of my hunts are solo — just me, my rifle, and a good map. Sometimes I tag along with an old buddy for a week in Zimbabwe or South Africa, but more often than not, it’s just me.
Big fan of classic hunting — bolt-action rifles, old-school tracking, and taking the time to really be in the moment.
Just did a podcast, check it out if interested!
