My CFO says I have been out of control the past year. She says a retired guy has no business buying $30k worth of rifles and handguns without selling anything.

So, to keep the peace, I agreed to list my three M71 (and sell one, MAYBE two).

These M71 are the only model and caliber that I have more than two of…so they were a natural choice to blurt out as I was searching for an appeasement.

If you need extra pics, pm me and I will email them.

From top to bottom in the pics:

First wo rifles are near twins, 1957 and 1952 vintage with receiver sights. The ’52 came to me with the swivels (I believe they are called Super Grade?). The '52 does not wear a front sight hood as the previous owner added a Sourdough front sight that is taller than the factory sight.

The third is a 1947 vintage with the bolt peep.

The ’47 has seen a bit more use than the other two, but I have to say I really dig it the most (even though the ’57 was built the same year I was).

Overall, to my eye, the ’52 is in the best condition of the three, although all three are in very good shape.

I left the pics large for high resolution, apologies if the mods need to shrink them. The pics were taken outside to give good resolution, but did cause a little odd glare here and there. Especially the '47 loading gate side pic...I think some clouds are reflecting off the receiver!

Prices are plus actual shipping/insurance. Happy to do a ftf with MO resident to avoid the extra cost.

1957 – $3,600

1952 $3,900

1947 – $4,200

Thanks for looking,

Tim

Haha...I added another two to the stable this past week (an unfired pre-Super Blackhawk three-screw unconverted 6.5" 44 mag and a Heym 16ga over 5.6x50R...on top of all the other stuff!

And we are building a place to live on retirement cash-flow.

So it really was not a difficult discussion. Especially seeing as the last two purchases triggered other expenditures (bullets, brass, etc). I try to keep the gun/stuff ownership sub $100k or or so. Been slipping lately.

Some very fine rifles there... if I didn't have a '71 out of the custom shop I would own one of these pristine rifles!

Those are some sexy rifles Tim, the only thing that would make them look better is a 4th model 71!

I saw that 16 ga over 5.6x50R so I should say thanks for buying it so your wife got mad instead of mine!

Those are some beautiful rifles! Id find a way to squirrel them away or put a lock on my gunroom with a no admittance sign for my wife, (I already have the lock, just have to get the gumption up to post the sign, I can only sleep with one eye open for so long).

Not in the market for another 71, but these 3 are beautiful! I love 71 rifles and the 348 Winchester cartridge.
GLWS!

Beautiful rifles Tarbe. I only have one, but it was built in 1936. GLWS

My dad left me one as well as as bunch of other nice rifles. Then I went to college and got married and got poor and didn't have time or money to hunt so I sold almost all of them. What a moron I was. I really had good taste in firearms and they were great examples all in good shape-- Model 71 Winchester, 35 Remington, 30.06 Fabrique National (which thankfully I gave to my nephew), a Singer Colt .45, etc Live and learn.

Live and learn, if we are really paying attention!

I do have nice examples of Remington 14 and 141 in 35 Remington. Much less expensive vs the M71!!

The M71 is a very nice rifle. Understand the commander of the household discussion.

@tarbe is a gentleman and easy to deal with. Buy with confidence.

on a side note the M71's can be converted to 50 alaskan buy a decent gunsmith.

Thanks Dave.

Buffalo Bore loads 50 Alaskan to ~4,000 ft-lbs.

Tarb is a Great Gentlman. I have done business with him. I just sold to a different member 4 Model 71's. TARBS PRICING IS VERY resonable.
GLWS TIM.
