Interesting short story about a lion attacking two Rangers in Namibia last year may be of interest to some.

Poor guys—hopefully they’ll be back soon.
Even the well-meaning talk about coexistence is nice and surely helps finance his expenses. And good for him—he deserves it.
Guys—the reality is completely different.
The surrounding farmers shoot about 200 lions a year using the 3S method.
Namibia only allows a quota of 3 trophy lions per year for export.
If they gave the go-ahead for 50 lions, so many other lions wouldn’t have to die, and the farmers would see them as worth preserving.
Use it or loose it.

What's the source for that number? It's believable but I just want to know where you got it.

Only 308 caliber military FMJ to deal with potential lion interaction? Wow! It definitely sounds like they need an experienced PH mentoring that unit. "Affirmative action" nearly got a couple of poorly or untrained guys killed. Or possibly it's just a lack of funding to get qualified staff on board. Those two are lucky to survive an animal attack ... and public health care. My PH's wife is a physician in RSA. She recently gave up on public hospital and opened a private clinic. In August I got an education on how well racist affirmative action doesn't work in the health care sector.

If you read "Atlas Shrugged" our society is currently a parody of that piece of literature in many ways at the moment.

Thank you for the LIKE on my old post. It brought back memories as I lost her a year and a half ago, at 18+ years.
