Ok, I was wondering if anyone has commissioned leather maker to build a scope case for their removable scope?

Thinking the classic type case…I think they were shearling lined and meant to fit your scope and rings once removed.
Most certainly the early ones were euro or German, not sure. I’m sure people know more about them than I but I was wondering about having one made by a leather maker.
Just curious if anyone had info or pics? Love to hear about it. Thanks

Haven’t had one made but do have a couple original ones.
These are just leather with no lining.
I think you may run into snagging issues if you get one fleece lined at least I’m sure you would with old claw mounts - maybe some new designs are sleeker and wouldn’t snag but I’d do a little testing before committing to a lining.

10-4 yeah probably true, seems like I’ve seen them lined with that. I was thinking more of a suede lined.

Probably because most of the only thing like it today would be a wine bottle holder, those pics are probably where I got the lining in my mind. I sure think having one would make sense for a removable scope.

I use a Maxpedition tactical scope case that is padded and has belt loops, with a zipper,..sure a sling could be fashioned. I only use it for transport

Oh absolutely more practical solutions, no question.
I just like that classic look and I also love leather and the patina/memories it collects

I go to Etsy for my custom-made leather goods. There are many leather craftsmen who will make bespoke items. Between leather vests, rifle cases and knife sheathes, I've yet to be disappointed.

I got a leather one on Ebay shipped out of India for about $40 plus shipping. It is not lined, but thick enough leather, with a buckle and strap to adjust slightly for length. I'm very happy with it and may order another in the next little while since you brought it to my attention. Good luck.

There are cheap ones that are unlined on ebay. Some are called scope cases, some map cases, thermos cases, but they are all the same. I think Tourbon made some.

I like to use a shemagh, wrapped around my QD scopes that I keep in my carry on for safety. I would do that, and slip it into an unlined leather tube case you can find on eBay. It'll save you a fortune.

I was able to find, what was advertised as new, German WW2 surplus. It fit my claw mount Hensoldt 4x perfectly with no lining.
Vintage ones are out there in good condition. Just have keep looking in you want to with vintage.

Thanks greatly! I'm leaving for the holidays so won't be around until 8 December. If that works I'll be appreciative. Address is Mason Reid, 1504 Driftwood Drive, Bozeman, MT 59715.

Sir, I think I have been writing to you about the purchase of the HK 639 rifle under an email "Tt Jake." If this is you, then I am truly interested. I am just trying to verify identify. Tt Jake is asking for a cash transaction. No disrespect intended, Just trying to verify who I am talking to. Thank you. Respectfully. Dan

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
