Just got engaged (again) now a question

My ring hurts my finger sometimes when I am working here at the ranch. I used to not wear it much so my wife bought me the silicone ones. They are comfortable and I wear it all the time and the gold one for more special occasions.

You could wear your ring on chain around your neck when hunting. A Honeymoon in Africa is the real question here.

I got engaged last weekend—my second, her first.

Here’s my question. First time around I hated how my ring makes up gunstocks or had to be taken off all the time. I see a lot of gutted with these rubber wedding rings that look cheesy. Anyone know of a ring that looks decent that might be a somewhat softer material?
@Russ16 - I’ve worn my wedding ring for 30+ years, it was My Father’s and he wore it for 25+ years before me - never even notice it’s on my finger but would feel “naked” without it. It’s a plain gold band, comfortable and gets bloody & clean - same as my hands….it’s NBD. I would think the more often you take it off the greater chance you Lose it

Here’s a recent oopsie where simply hopping out of the bed of my work truck hung my finger on the bed rail.

When I first got married I was working around a lot of machinery where there was a chance of it getting caught and loosing a finger. One of my coworkers wore his gold band and with what he worked on it destroyed the ring with gouges and scratches.

My ex asked me about wearing a ring and I just told her flat out that it was dangerous due to the work that I did. We compromised by getting me a ring along with a gold necklace for me to wear. The necklace was out of the way and no one ever even noticed it.

I sold the necklace when we got divorced and used the proceeds to pay off a few things that we had purchased while we were together. I still have the ring.

Never been married but did have a really nice family coat of arms Ring made for myself when I first started making real money. Word of advice from a fool don’t wear one if your prone to physical discussions. I had to have the above mentioned ring cut off after breaking the finger it was on in two places in conversation with my sisters ex husband over his treatment of my nephew.

Congratulations!

FWIW, believe I've had the wedding ring off for fewer hours, than years I've been married. But then I don't work with things where a ring could be a hindrance.

Tatting your finger?… Sounds like a solution for a non-existent problem. Potentially having to explain that tat in the future?… Very much a problem without a solution. To each their own ;)

No wife. Happy life.
Congrats. But I learned the first time.

neither a solution or a problem... more of an unnecessary, but purposefully chosen adventure in our case.. (we're tattoo people.. getting a traditional polynesian tattoo, while in French Polynesia, from an internationally known artist (been written up in several trade magazines, has won awards, etc) was all part of the trip/vacation...

the fact that he was drunk as a monkey, lived in a house that didn't have a door (he used an old bed sheet), had chickens living in his den (they were actually everywhere.. the den, kitchen, hallways, etc), only took payment in cash (US dollars actually), and used traditional methods (sharpened piece of whale bone and natural inks) to apply the tattoo just made things more.... ummmmm.... interesting? or entertaining? or adventuresome? :D

Congratulations.
As for myself I’ll continue to rent. When married I didn’t wear a ring due to the risk of degloving myself.

LOL I thought I did too swore I wouldn’t again. But she turned me into a liar on that front.

Thanks all. I’ll see how she feels about no ring and maybe go silicone.

Tattoo isn’t for me none on my body seems like a strange one to start with.

Don't wear one, its a major safety hazard. especially when your date notices. :D

Serious comment, during my Army days, we were instructed to never wear rings. Too many instances where rings got caught on equipment etc and removed the whole finger.

@Tubby’s Canteen - your problem wasn’t “a ring” - you had the WRONG RING and/or Not enough rings. Wear a good size High School or College ring - maybe a couple = BRASS KNUCKLES !! You’ll have more One-Punch-Knockouts or at least the fight will be called based on “cuts”. Sure, your fingers might swell or even be broken but NOT YOUR JAW !!

Same gold band for 29 years.
100’s of shooting competitions.
About 120 martial arts tournaments. Did wear striking gloves.
Can’t tell you how many hunts.
Been in over 30 countries, some were not so nice.
I did have the ring made round again a few times. Took 5 minutes at jeweler.
Only time I have not worn it was during surgery and MRI’s.

Hello,

I saw your post selling left hand rifles. Do you have any additional pics of the .416 Rem mag?

Thank you.
