I have an LR4 2013 and will keep it until I die. Love the body style, glass for easy seeing and big V8. Mine just hit 130,000 miles with only a small engine tweak for a small oil leak, new tires, break job, new spark plugs and every fluid changed…runs like a dream. I just love this vehicle!!!!My current hunting rig is a Toyota FJ Cruiser. I fell in love with my PH's badass v8 turbo diesel 5spd Land Cruiser in Limpopo but that model never made it to the USA. The 6spd V6 FJ was the closest I could find. I also liked Kevin's Gen 1 LR. My wife drives a Land Rover LR4 which may be one of the few vehicles that are more capable than the Toyota.

I read about this incident earlier in the week on a few other internet sites. Having just returned from 4-wheeling in that area a few weeks ago, I marvel at his ability to get that rental vehicle into that predicament; notwithstanding the fact that car rental contracts there specifically prohibit taking them on Black Bear Pass or Poughkeepsie. Sucks that he shut down the pass for everyone for a few days, and i still don't know if they have recovered the vehicle yet. Here ya go. ‘Tis the season for idjuts. Yeah, save the Unimog for the Apocalypse. Both of these are awesome. Love it.View attachment 717851My two rigs. 1965 Series 2a Land Rover 109 in station wagon. 1980 Mercedes Unimog 416 DOKA. The rover usually gets the hunting gigs.
The Rovers are fine vehicles. Ours is the SCV6. Loads of power and solid drive. My wife's LR4 is just like her cats. It is never allowed to get its feet dirty, lol. But, it is nice to know it can if needed. The Toyota on the other hand is in the dirt and mud all the time.I have an LR4 2013 and will keep it until I die.
