Howdy hunters

Welcome aboard Pole Pole. What kind and caliber rifles did you use on your African hunts? What are you planning to use on your Bear hunt?
I am using a 1957 model 70 Winchester 300 H&H. Should be good for the smaller griz. Also, I think it would be fun to use a model 71 in 348

I have a Winchester Mod. 71 that was built in 1936. I wouldn't mind owning / getting a Winchester Super Thirty providing I could get it for a good price. The last pre 64 Mod 70 (30-06) that I bought had little if any use. I paid $850 for it at my "Local Gun Store." BTW the Mod. 71(s) have / had a good reputation amongst Alaskan bear hunters.

the 375 is on the small for buffalo. Granted you may not pancake one but a heart shot or double lung and you got your bull.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
