hoping to find the disappearing 404 Jeffery ammo

Welcome aboard Tigo583. Finding any large bore ammo is a problem. I reload my own, but even then, components are scarce. First off do you already own a 404 Jeffery or are you having one built / converted? Have you talked to your gunsmith and or dealer about where to possibly find ammo? Although I've never used them, there is a company called Hendershots that custom loads for African calibers. Perhaps they can help you.

Thanks for the welcome! I already own a 404. Was wanting to stock up on some rounds to have for future hunts. I have on order components to load my own but would like to source additional factory rounds if possible.

This gives "us" the opportunity to see "where you are coming from." Please take a look at it and post accordingly. By owning a 404 Jeffery I already know that you have excellent taste in big / dangerous game hunting rifles.

The last time I was in Marksmen Firearms and Outfitters in Wichita Falls, TX, they had about 10 boxes of Hornady 404J ammo. I was tempted to buy it so I would have an excuse to get a rifle for it.
