The gemsbok cape I received from my 2016 hunt is not usable. After 7 months of no replies from the outfitter, I've hit my frustration level and just decided to find one myself. I've not had any luck here in western Pa.
If anyone out there has any leads or advice on where I can purchase one I would greatly appreciate it.

Sorry to hear that Jody.

I might be able to help you out on this one

The idea was to have a mirror image of this one for the other side of the room.

Atlantic Coral Enterprise in St. Augustine Fl always has African skins for sale, just not every animal every time. Right now they have a Gemsbok cape for $150.

There are several businesses in Texas that do the same.

a guy name Mulie Mike is selling broken horn Gemsbok hunts for about $1200 on low fence hunts in west texas.

Go do that and you get the hide and the meat.

My wife is going to hunt one soon.

I like the way you think @Savage Hunter

I was just down that way a week ago. Wish I would have thought about it then..

Virtually any taxidermist who regularly does African game has easy access to an Oryx cape. The guys at Critter Creations http://crittercreationstaxidermy.com/ in Chambersburg, PA are truly world class, and I am sure they could square away your mount.

Try Taxidermy net. com under for sale and post a wanted add, there are a lot of taxidermists who have spare capes. Also a word about local capes, have seen quite a few gemsbok capes from New Mexico and many were inferior due to possible frost bite on the ears and just not as nice for what ever reason so beware.

We're going to south Texas about an hour west of San Antonio. I don't imagine it gets real cold there.

I also know it can get quite cold in Namibia so I don't really know what was wrong with some of the gemsbok ears that came from New Mexico, they just reminded me of mule deer and cougar that I've seen that were frost bit.

Have 2 dry tanned . USA tanned . Just tanned 1 month ago , should be 23 or 24 behind the ears. Both off bulls that were 32 inch bulls taken in limpopo South africa. 235.00 each delivered to your door.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
A replacement cape came in the mail today Happy to say it looks in great shape.

1 year of emails and phone calls to outfitter and taxidermist in Africa = nothing
2 hours on AH = cape

Another reason the folks on this site rock!!
I'll be sure to post pics once it's mounted.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

Made it to Augusta Georgia yesterday for a meeting, hunt bookings are looking good for 2026 and 2027, had a great time on our Alabama safari shot a rutting deer at 200 yards with 7mm PRC near Huntsville and then headed on to Butler Alabama and semi guided my first deer ever shot a very nice broken off 8 point with hunter there and spend a few days on 1100 acres hunting preserve awesome place!
