Hello from Ireland

:S Welcome:
Namibia is a great country to visit and for your first safari.
Dont be afraid to ask questions. We all had a first safari and lots of folks around here visit Namibia regularly :D Beers:

In July 2025 we have a wedding to attend in Germany near Frankfurt, which appears to fly direct to Nambia.

So looking recommendations for outfitters- I don't have a wishlist other then a Kudo.

Somewhere with a luxury lodge and opportunities to do some sightseeing and keep the wife happy!

Welcome! Certainly glad to have you here with the rest of us!

Welkom! Lots of great outfitters in Namibia. @Sika98k is a fellow Irishman like you. He has certainly good advice as if iirc has multiple safaris to Namibia under his belt.

I hunted last year in Namibia. You can look up my report in the hunting reports section.

Good luck searching for the right outfit for you.

Have a look at Khomas Highland Safaris. They are a site supporting outfitters, great German family that just built a new lodge, have horse back trips for the wife and they can do site seeing and fishing trips to Swakopmund. Great hunting as well. Highly recommended…

I'm a hunter from the north of Ireland, mainly hunting Red, Sika and Fallow deer.

Looking for some advice on booking my first safari (along with my wife).

We would like to visit Nambia to hunt and sight see.
My mother’s maiden name is McGuire and her middle name is Nell so Irish runs through my veins!!! While Namibia is great everything depends on your budget. If this is your first Safari I recommend the Eastern cape with @game4africa for a 5 animal PG hunt with excellent facilities you and your wife will love. It was my first safari. You can take Kudu, Zebra, Impala, Black Widebeest and Springbok for about $5,000 and about $2000 for your wife observer fee which will get you 7 full hunting days. Good luck with wherever you go and welcome to Africa!!!!!

Just look at the sponsors of this website; there's a bunch of outfitters who either live in Namibia, or have concessions to hunt.

welcome aboard!

as @Mekaniks said Thomas Highland Safaris is a great company that i have hunted with and would heartily recommend. they have plenty of great rental rifles if you don't want to bring your own and are very connected to the german community.

Good day! Welcome to AH!

What sling studs do those swivels fit ? They look to be quite a bit wider than the standard modern swivels. They may be just what I need for my Remington 30 Express wide swivel studs. Can you measure the pin diameter ?
