I will when I can, but my experience is rather limited so I’ll do more listening than talking. I find this forum most informative and really enjoy reading it.

Welcome aboard Wyatt.

Everyone here can teach the rest of us something, so don't hold out on us!

Welcome aboard!

Glad to have you with us Wyatt! Enjoy and please don’t feel shy about participating! Some of us, I’m a prime example, have forgotten lots of what we learned the hard way. The answers here help refresh our old memories.

Hi guys
Thanks for all the knowledge you have given me before I joined, and thanks for all I will receive in the future.

Welcome to AH!

Welcome to AH Wyatt. Nice to have you as part of our community. Enjoy the forum, it's very addicting!

Welcome aboard Wyatt. Please tell us a little more about yourself as a hunter. Things like what have you hunted in the past, what kind and caliber rifles do you own. Do you have any near term plans for hunting Africa?

I enjoy hunting small game quite a bit, squirrel is probably my favorite. I love waterfowl hunting but it’s hard for me to find places to go. My uncle used to have goose pit on one of our farms, that was a blast. But I think my favorite time of year is the first deer season the hunting is good here (pike county Illinois) I haven’t killed any trophy bucks, the antlers don’t excite me much and you can’t eat them, but I shoot a meat doe every fall and my buck tag normally is never filled.
My favorite rifle is a pre 64 featherweight 30-06 and second and third place are model 70 safari express 375 and a obendorf Mauser 98 7mm that was made for the Chilean military. Sadly my stats laws prevent me from using these on deer so I use a BPS 12 gauge
Hunting Africa is a dream and I hope to start a saving account for my safari soon. It may take awhile but I will get there someday

Welcome to AH, Wyatt!

Welcome aboard, Wyatt. You may wish to join the local Chicago/Illinois SCI Chapter as well. It's a fairly active chapter with a summer BBQ, a Christmas Brunch, and a HUGE late winter / early spring gala.

Welcome to our forum Wyatt. If you hunt, reload or just like to shoot big guns, you have picked the best on-line place to be! The collective experience and information in this forum would fill a library.....and it's all free to you....just ask !

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
