Long time visitor to AH, first time poster. I’ve learned a lot from the knowledge and experiences shared here and appreciate the professionalism of this community. While most of my background is in hunting here in the U.S. (and enforcing those laws as Mr. Green Jeans), Africa has always been a dream, and I look forward to learning more and contributing where I can. Planning on heading to Africa in 2027 with a good friend who has been to Africa three times. We will be going Harloo Safaris.

:S Welcome:

Welcome to AH Satari416!

Welcome aboard! Appreciate you enforcing the laws.

Howdi. I'm your neighbor....The Villages, Fl. I hunt and work on game reserves with my wife several weeks to months yearly. If I can help in any way, let me know. No matter what or where, the African people, cultures, languages, wildlife, etc. are all amazing.

Hey Marcus - good to know. You’re only about an hour and a half from me. Can’t wait to experience all the dark continent has to offer.

Have 3 USMC veterans (all Os) in my group and I’ll be the sole USCG vet . Will enjoy the ball busting and the numerous references to “brown water” and “6ft” height requirements to enlist. Couldn’t ask for better company “no better friend.” SF to all the Marines on here.

Welcome! Certainly glad to have you here with the rest of us! 2027 will be here before you know it. Any animal in particular you are wanting to hunt?

Just ask them what color crayon is their favorite :)

I worked for Marines in the Navy for 7 years and appreciate them dearly

And I got rescued by the Coast Guard once (very long story) so I’ve let go of all my “puddle pirate” jokes

Welcome aboard!

I am in New Symrna Beach
Enjoy NSB quite often with my family. Great beach! Saw your Dennis Olsen built 404 Jeff, beautiful rifle, what a beauty. A 404 is on my short list for acquisitions before 2027. Earlier this year bought a Weatherby 307 CT - 7 PRC with a Schmidt & Bender scope for a Colorado late season elk hunt near Collbran. Wondering if I should drag that rifle with me to Africa or just a 404 if I get one. Planning on hunting PG, no DG on my first trip. Although at least one in our group is going for buff.

I’ll be focused in on PG (maybe my second trip I’ll have the opportunity to go after a buffalo). Really would like to have a chance at a Kudu but my good friend tells me that in Pongola I also need to consider a Nyala.

How many animals were on your list for your first trip? Which was your favorite?
