Welcome to AH from Seward Marty :S Welcome:

Welcome to AH Marty! Hope you'll get a chance to step foot on the African continent and hunt there. You are closer than you think just by being here. Enjoy your time here, you fit right in!

Welcome
I never thought I would hunt in Alaska but I have twice.
Planning a third return

Thanks guys. Love Alaska hunting and fishing. Will be out on my next R&R for some salmon dipnetting and a couple of men's ministry float trips on the Gulkana. I work on the north slope in the oilfields two weeks on/two weeks off.

I submitted the winning pictures in the hunt giveaway thread so am already planning on what I'll take. ;)

Hello and welcome!

Welcome Marty. I just returned from Anchorage at Cal Pappas Double Gun Shoot just about 3 weeks ago. Had a great time and learned a lot. Going to Africa for my first time in 30 days. May try a hunt in Alaska next year. Haven't decided yet. Post those Alaska hunting pics when you have a chance!!!

I've been trying for a few years to get to one Cal's shoots but every one has been while I was working on the slope.

Which forum thread is best for non Africa hunting pics?

@BRICKBURN was referring to a hunt contest that we have running now where you can enter by
posting pictures in the thread: Free 2x1 Hunt for Two Hunters from Liam Urry Safaris for 2017/18: https://www.africahunting.com/threa...ers-from-liam-urry-safaris-for-2017-18.38577/.

Feel free also to upload any of your pictures in the Video & Photo gallery at https://www.africahunting.com/media/ or post your pictures in the Hunting Pictures section at https://www.africahunting.com/community/hunting-pictures/.

You need to go Marty! as a Alaskan friend says hes a "weather refugee" He spends non Alaskan time bumbling around Namibia.
welcome to AH
Pat

I hope to hunt Alaska someday. Making plan for 2019! Welcome to the thread!

Welcome! I've flown to Alaska 5 times hunting and fishing, and drove 1 time two days after I retired in our cabover camper. The drive was a total of 10,000 miles. It was awesome! We've had plans to do it a little different next time by loading our camper on the state ferry and getting off at several places along the Inside Passage.
Great experiences in Alaska!

Now you NEED to try Africa!
Best of luck!

Welcome to AH, Marty!

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
